rodingo writes: It looks like he took NWN2 world map roaming from Storm of Zehir (or basically most Final Fantasy games) and paired it with Neverwinter Nights 1 gameplay.  Not that those are neccasarily bad things, but other than the social aspects of the game I hope there is something that's more innovative than what I saw. Reminds me of the old school 8 bit RPGs, where you would wander around a map and between running to dungeons and towns random mob encounters would happen.

For someone who said game design has not improved this seems a step back from many improvments we see in MMOs, like a persistant world. This is just a map you walk around on and warp into a zones.

mawgren writes: @ Nadriell - Watched this video hoping to find graphic AND / OR preferably gameplay... found neither. The trailer gameplay unfortunately looks even more generic and dated than the games name "Shroud of the Avatar -  Forsaken Virtues". That name sounds  like they rolled a 20 sided dice a couple times with the most oversused fantasy terms written on each side and went with what they rolled lol. Honestly I wouldn't be trolling if A.  the creator wasn't so outspoken and B. this wasn't a crowd funded project that is looking more and more like a quick cash grab to me. Hopefully I'm wrong lol. A wee bit early to judge the graphics and sound, don't you think? This is a prototype... a demo... a pre-alpha version thrown together to give a very general idea of what to expect.

I could see being worried if this were late alpha or beta footage, but come on...

DalekThay writes: Oh, and I must add that this is more than what most Kickstarter projects have to show. The majority of them (including the well-hyped Camelot Unchained) are just a few paragraphs of ideas and a few pieces of concept art. At least Portalarium isn't too chicken to actually show us something regarding what they have in mind. Tue Apr 02 2013 11:30PM Report

I have to say that looks horrible all around. Boring and dated gameplay and graphics. If this is a prototype, I think showing no gameplay at all would have been a better idea till he had something better to show. Embarrasing for an idustry veteran in 2013.

Apparently, I was too concise with my previous summary of this new title brought to us by Richard Garriott.  I had stated that this was "Fail." and I would like to amend that synopsis with the addendum that this game looks completely bad by every measure known.

If I had a prototype and this was it, sure as hell would not let the public see it.
