The syncing is off, due to the transfer from Twitch. Blame them, not us! The audio's good though. Colin talks the week in MMOs with us, and dishes on so many things coming to GW2 this month.

That was a great 'FTW- Live.
I was suprised that Colin was so candid and down to earth. Normally they talk like they have an ad-mans hand...you get the idea.
He knew his game, he could answer without having to dance around what he was trying to say in terms of knowledge. I have to admit I havent been playing GW2 that much lately, same goes with following. Some of the things coming down the pipe I have to say Im looking forward to relogging in again and playing.
You need to do more of these guests. Im really enjoying them.
Thanks to both you and Rob.
Sat Jan 19 2013 2:10AM Reporti just want to point out that unless im completly retarded the archeage website doesnt detail the classes in any way it just tells you that there are 120 possiblities i hope somone could prove me wrong.
Sat Jan 19 2013 4:27AM ReportGreat to hear Colin talking about not just GW2 but MMO's in general. I idea of revisiting game zones and them being as rewarding as your first attempt was very interesting. Also good to hear that they don't want to make a dungeon finder tool that forms a group for you and then puts you into a dungeon. Do not change a beautiful online world into a lobby game.
I do hope though that MMOFTW Live does not become a marketing spot for big titles. About 65% of this episode was on GW2.
Sat Jan 19 2013 5:49AM ReportGreat episode, tons of info and opinions worth hearing.
Would return to GW2 if they added some type of ranking system, and a rewarding server rank system for WvW. At the momment an active pvper can't find what they offer enough to keep playing.
Archeage looks amazing as a sandbox that will harbor open-world pvp as it was intended.
Sat Jan 19 2013 8:38AM Report- We do not have a trinity, we do have tanky like professions and we definately have dps and utility, if you want to get rid of the zerg, your going to have to add a healer into the mix. One of the reasons you have to have numbers is to rez people, your going to die, so your going to need someone to rez you, but if we have healers you might not die, your skill rather than your numbers is what keeps you up.
My GW2 wish list is to add a true healing spec / professions to the game.

Sat Jan 19 2013 2:32PM ReportThis was a great episode, i kept imagining Grak shouting 'you killed my brother, prepare to die!', ah why can't movies be that bad again, lol.
though, to hear Colin talk about culling was very, very important. great to hear that bit of news and how they are going to addressing it in this next patch.
Time to fire up the GW2 account.

Nope! City of Heroes had the malefactor or sidekicking system.
So to scale up to a higher level, the higher level had to sidekick you and stay within a certain range to you.
If you were a high level and where in a lower mission you could be malefactored by a lower level to scale down.
So to scale in overall you were depending on someone of the appropriate scale to take you under their wing.
In GW2 you are not dependant to that cause the game scales you to the area after you enter it.
