Elder Scrolls Online Videos: E3 2013 - Talking PVP with Brian Wheeler (14:16)

At this year's E3,it was announced that Elder Scrolls Online would be coming to the major consoles of Xbox One and PS4 next year, and that the main PC version of the game would be pushed back to Spring 2014 as well. We caught up with PVP Lead Brian Wheeler to talk about all of this, but more importantly, how the Alliance vs. Alliance warfare is coming along.

They could take another 2 years, it wont change anything. most TES fans don't play MMOs and they can try to disconnect it from the MMO genre all they like, the TES multi-player game most TES fans want does not include DaoC closed world/faction funneled PvP crap like this game has. No amount of spin will change it.

They don't want a game that is going to force themselves and all of their friends to have to choose the same races to be able to play together. They want an open world, open faction game.

Thanks for hitting up Brian about the campaign system.. This is the first I've heard of it.

I knew they would have to do SOMETHING since it was a megaserver, and not everyone could fit on just one map of Cyrodil, and this explains how they did it. It sounds well enough, but I still wish it was server based so you couldn't switch between what are, basically, persistent instances.

Still looking forward to it!

I'm still questioning their Megaserver's ability to handle RvR battles and it seems to be the thing they like to skip over when bragging about its capabilities.

One server handling multiple instances of massive player fights with many being concentrated into a single area (keeps) hints at disaster.

I've been a massive fan of Elder Scrolls since I rented Daggerfall as a kid.  I always imagined "what would this game be like if I was able to share it with my friends?".  Well I knew that it'd be carnage...  I don't see PvP as foreign to the Elder Scrolls world considering the amount of times I found myself slaughtering guards, AI adventurers etc.

Not a fan of the Cryodil only PvP but I understand that this helps maintain a strong balance of adventure vs carnage.

Bring on the beta!

Vorthanion writes: I wish he had asked if everyone would be funneled into Cyrodil for the high end game and if the majority of the high end reward systems were all placed in pvp content.  I like to dabble a bit in pvp, but I need and want a full fledged pve system at the end game that doesn't "require" me to ever go into Cyrodil if I so choose without being punished for doing so. LAME.

There's a BOOK in the CAVE that tells you why there's GOBLINS in the CAVE!  WOoowoOWOWOWowowoooooooooooooooooo!  Hell no.

That is terrible.

I guess the goblins took up literature, learned to read and write, and began chronicling their lives inside the dingy cave for any passerbys to read and understand why they are slaughtering goblins in the cave.  Ah, now it makes sense?

Yes, the entire focus of the game is PvP there is barely any  PvE in the entire game.  Adventure Zones, Questing, 50+, 50++, and Exploring are just myths.

@Vexus_X0- I know it's a bit hard to understand, but its possible a human, elf, argonian, or khajiit died in the cave and wrote a journel.            E3 is exhausting for developers. They talk to hundreds of people so they have to be brief while trying to get their fans/ potential fans hyped, all while trying not to give away information on a game they are passionate about and have been working on for years.

Lastly, I know this is a good site to find MMOs and general news about them. But if you want to know more about the game there are many other sources that bring together interviews, articles, ect to provide a more complete base of information released about this game.

At least you wont have to wait 1-2 hours to get into the AvA.

I stopped playing GW2's WvW, because...to me it was almost point less. Get in find out there is almost no one on your side in the map, or not working together etc etc, and just get smacked around by the zergs. Not sure how it is now, toke a break.

Hope they have mechanics in place to prevent "The biggest Zerg wins" Krap. That is not fun PvP,especially in AvA,WvW,RvR what ever you want to call it.

Leave the battle royals where they belong, in the arenas/battleground/PvP matches.
