Mwalkin writes: So, inventions are mostly enhancements the hero makes? I thought they said something about new powers, but maybe I misenterpretted. The costume parts seemed cool though. Mon May 14 2007 10:58PM
MosaicM writes: You can make new temp powers too. But the prices for most important salvage is so high you better have a max lvl char with tons of inf. Tue May 15 2007 3:49AM
coffee_head writes: way to tedious, unless you are looking for a second job:/ Tue May 15 2007 5:25AM
damian7 writes: not sure what's up with the temp powers, haven't seen any of those yet, but i haven't really researched about it yet either. way too tedious? um, you just kill things like you normally would, you get TONS of recipes and salvage drops. if you don't have what you want, go to the auction places. if you're short on cash, look at what you have and what sells very well. it's actually done quite nicely. if you're an alt-holic; then, all those level 14-20s that you have, just got a bunch of new goodies to play with. i really like the ones that do things like add endo drain to a ranged attack, or the +stealth (120 second duration) to a jump power, etc. Tue May 15 2007 6:24AM
archabaddon writes: Although some of the rarer stuff is still somewhat pricey, prices are already dropping for many items just weeks after release (as players collect more of the common and uncommon stuff). It also gives any character the chance to make a lot of INF if the get the right drop & consign it. The nice thing about basic Invention Enhancements is that their effectiveness is based off of their level, not the characters. You don't outlevel them like regular Enhancements, but upgrading them is still beneficial. The set IOs give extra bonuses if you have two or more in a power. Costumes include wings and boots, both very nice. I speculate jet packs will be added next :) The invented temp powers are so-so, but I expect more powers & costume parts to be added later - this is just Phase 1 after all :p Now that the system's in-place, there's a lot of room for expansion. Jarlo writes: Yeah it won't play for me either, getting a cannot connect error. Maybe just overloaded ? Tue May 15 2007 1:44PM
Fion writes: Tedius? The items drop randomly, you can buy all you need to make a new power or enhancement or costume piece in minutes, the actual crafting is instant. It is far from tedious. You want tedious crafting, go play DAoC. Tue May 15 2007 3:24PM
Erutan409 writes: It seems like a nice system but I don't know that I want to spend the time make the "inventions." It's a nice idea, but seriously, a game can get very complicated these days. Wed May 16 2007 2:51PM
