This sounds a lot like NWN, you will get servers where overpowered gear is available. It'll just be a case of cherry picking a server or two that floats your boat....or make one of your own.

The game sounds next to perfect, if it weren't for the fact the servers will be player-run.
It might be a different story if they selectively pick these players though. Otherwise, I imagine people would abuse this as much as possible, pretty much making any sort of character progression pointless
i like idea of this game but
- pay for server cluster hosting
- additionaly pay for playing game or not..

It depends a lot on what player run servers do. It could be completely interesting given characters are seperate on servers were a player run server could have its own world and features, acting as a 'mod' independant of the game. Of course, we aren't that certain how much customization can be brought to the Player-run servers so it might not be able to do such things.
Player run servers aren't THAT bad people if its handled right. If a sever is having stuff done you don't like, you can always jump onto another server were that isn't going on.
People jumping to conclusions probably missed the part where shards are not ONLY player run.

You can buy the game for less than $30 and never pay again. You can play on your own server or that of a friend and have 100% control over the world.
You can ALSO, pay a small monthly fee to play on the "official" shards where they will have GMs and customer service etc.
You can ALSO, pay a small fee to have your server hosted by Citadel and be public for anyone to enter.
Servers will be connected through clusters so you cannot go to a monty-hall shard, load up on loot and then move to an official one.
