WereTech writes: City of Heroes has been going strong for over 5 years. The game is constantly improving with free updates called issues. Issue 15 just came out recently and issue 16 is in beta testing. In general, the gaming community is very friendly and helpful. It's hard to vote on the RP as it isn't clear that this is related to. There is as much RP as any first platform games, but it is hit or miss to run into players that do RP'ing. Due to the speed of an MMORPG there isn't always enough time for RP during combat situations. If you haven't tried City of Heroes, there is a link at the website for a free trial. Check it out. It's a great game that has kept my interest for over 5 years of play. And for those of you that would like to write your own adventures for others to play the new architect feature allows you to do just that. It's a simple to use interface, and you can create your own enemies to fight using the creature creator. I think it's great fun. Sat Aug 15 2009 5:44AM
Draco91 writes: Overall good game. Awesome customization. Maybe only a few "classes", but the variety of powers you can choose within the classes gives you huge amounts of play style and group role options. Costume customization is great too. My biggest complaint about the game is that every area seems to look exactly the same... and many of the quests send you to instances that are all either sewers with the exact same layout as the rest of the sewers... or warehouses which have maybe 2 or 3 different layouts, but all look exactly the same. This lowered the fun value a few ticks for me. On the upside, there seems to be more grouping in this game than many others on the market at the moment, even though it is possible to solo. ProjectNDV writes: I feel bad for the CoX brand. It was a great idea and the concept had a lot of potential; however the people at NC Soft have run this game to the ground, by nerfing everything that is fun and makes sense. With two new "Hero" games coming out in a few months, CoX to me is dead. They had a chance though, so its no ones fault but there own. I was a three year Vet of the game and spent a ton of money on the extras and all the game strategy items, and all I got for a thanks was unreturned tech support emails, and a "I'm always wrong - and their always right" attitude from the support team at NC Soft. Well now I will spend my money elsewhere. Mon Jul 20 2009 1:47PM
