RF Online takes place among three warring races in a sci-fi fantasy MMORPG blending sorcery and technology against a background of politics, corruption, and the ongoing battle over resources across the land.
The game's political system includes player participation, and the usual quests and storyline missions are included, though the standout is the game's PvP. PvP is almost completely open except in towns, and fitting with the political nature of the gameplay, Realm vs. Realm combat also makes up a large part of the game.
