The folks at EverQuest have announced that they have streamlined and improved the process of signing up for the beta test for future EQ expansions.
Introducing the new and improved EverQuest Expansion Beta sign-up page!
The Beta sign-up process has been made easier for you… and for us! The new system places you in a pool of potential beta testers. When the open stages occur, beta testers will automatically be selected from that pool. We will, however, still be limiting the number of participants during different Beta stages the difference is that now you don't have to wait for a window of opportunity. The Beta sign-up page will remain open. Once you sign up, you do not need to sign up again.
Please remember that when you sign up to participate in any beta you agree to the Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA) terms which in summary means you agree not to disclose information about the expansion. You must read and accept the full NDA before you get placed in the pool.

I couldn't sign up and participate in the beta, mainly because it says my account is not eligble. I'm guessing thats because I do not currently have an active subscription. But on the beta signup page, it states...
"Welcome to the EverQuest® beta test. A shining portal leads to a distant future where Riftseekers have used the Plane of Time to corrupt the very fabric of reality. Prepare for your journey--this is Norrath as you've never seen it before."
So apparently the next expansion takes place in the future. Little inside info on it they I havn't seen released anywhere else in case anyone is interested.
Yes, your account status must be "Active", not just "Pending".
I was not eligible till I added a new subscription plan.
Holy crap...months ago i had a fleeting thought of a good idea for an expansion about these rift portals and voidbeasts popping up, and here is what i was talking to my guild about, I stated out of the blue, wouldnt it be really neat if these portals ripped space time fabric and enables us to travel from eq to eq2 because these void tempest are opening up portals to tjhe past and future>?
