IGN has posted their 48th "peek of the week" for Mourning. This time they cover some of the features in the combat system. Here is a snippet:
| Back when we talked about Mourning's melee combat system in our RPG Vault Peek #20, I mentioned some of the requirements our melee actions will have - the positional requirements, player's actions, player's styles, target's actions, target's styles and so on. Some of the action requirements I didn't talk about then are the action somatic component ones - movement, gesture, vocal and mental. These action somatic components reflect a character's momentary possibility to perform certain in-game activities like the possibility to move their character (movement), the possibility to perform actions (gesture - mainly for combat actions, melee, ranged combat and some magic ones), the possibility to talk (vocal - mainly for combat shout "magic" actions, although we're also considering the possibility to link in a character's leadership commands and chat capability to his vocal action somatic component state) and the possibility to concentrate his mental strength in order to cast some spells (mental). |
