Cheesy.
I'm excited about the game, but I kind of hate these wallpapers.
I know these are official Champions characters, but they just look so BORING!
Go to any CoH costume contest and you will be surrounded by far more interesting and creative characters. (True, there are many ugly and stupid-looking ones as well, but my point is, it's not that hard to do better than what I see here.)
As an old school player and great fan of the Champions game let me say those are Cryptic's REVISIONS of the original Champions characters. And pretty poor ones at that IMO.
Defender (bottom left wallpaper in tjhe link above) was always the Iron-Man of Champions. A power-suit hero with a full helmet. Now he looks like a rip-off of Statesman from CoH.
And they made Dr. Destroyer (bottom right wallpaper) look like a twig! Below is what Dr. Destoyer should look like. Terrifying, monstrous and looking like he can go toe-to-toe with any Brick (which he could!)
I have no idea who the other characters are. Right now, like other people I'm not impressed with Cryptics character design but it's particularly annoying to someone who remembers these characters the way they were.
I realize MMORPG developers have to make changes to their licenses into order to make a working game, But there's already good source material out there for Champions. Cryptic should pay more attention to it IMO.
Gor'ram, I hope that is not an indication of how the game will be like.
IE: What Champions should be and play like according to Cryptic. (User feedback, Original IP, eh what are those?)
