AS all SOE employees should know EQ2 and other SOE games are your access to your paychecks. So why has SOE consistently ignored pleas from their players for things like server consolidation in EQ2 when your players on low population servers see that there is a severe shortage in the player base. Why did SOE give free expansions to those players who have not been loyal customers and give absolutely nothing to those who have been playing since release or close to it without a lapse in their subscription? Why has SOE not advertised the game to pull in players from WoW and other MMOs who are inferior to EQ2? Why would SOE clearly allow cheating to go on (devs giving key strats to certain guild /wave NPU) and still allow those devs to be employed and WORKING on new development of EQ2? WHY wouldn't SOE have an expansion ready for release when they knew for months that Age of Conan was going to be released AND was likely to take a significant portion of their player base? Instead opting for in game events that at best were (are?) mediocre? Why would SOE ignore certain classes who, without significant help, can't play the game alone? Why would SOE release an expansion (RoK) that would be almost completely based on solo quests for advancement, where the quest rewards were mostly vendor fodder and where mastercrafted items had better statistics than legendary items looted in very dangerous group instances? What happened to risk versus reward? Why would SOE purposely limit level progression to 10 levels every 2 REAL LIFE years? Do you guys honestly think that players are going to stick around for the 20 months or so that they can't earn EXP or raise their toons level? How many times can you expect that raid guilds will want to go into the same instances over and over and over?

How can you expect to keep your games profitable if you offer little to no challenge, little to no progression and little to no adventure? It's YOUR paychecks on the line here folks....the customers will speak with their wallets if your ears aren't ready to LISTEN to what we have to say...

Seriously, all I can say is, if they put as much effort into actually making the game live up to its potential as they put into their hype machine and blowing their own horns, EQ II would have had a much better chance of being the 800 pound gorilla of the MMO world.  Its just sad now that all they seem able to do is try and hype what little they've done over and over and over again.  I left EQ II about a year or so back, came back to try it again during the "Please come back and try us again, cause we really need your dollars" freeby month and nothing really important changed, and don't get me wrong, i'm not saying they didn't do anything, just that they didn't do anything very important to the player base....  well its about time for SoE's new mmo to come out and EQ II along with the rest of the turds are about to be pushed even further back out of the limelight.  Seriously, what they really needed to do was clean house from the top down.  I mean smedly should have left first off and let the bodies hit the floor from there on down.  SoE will never learn, they lost so much of their brand name value on trying to buy up messes and throw some polish on them but it never works, EVER!  They say, you can't teach an old dog new tricks, and with SoE they prove it time after time.

Cant get past level 30 because you get bored or can't find a group or what? I have 6 toons past level 70, but I only play a few hours a night now. The ONLY reason I still play is because my wife enjoys playing because her RL friends play. After the summer when School goes back I am closing my account and going to AoC where my friends are....

I hate this game, and I hate what SOE has become...They are nothing more than a money grubbing, do as little as possible to improve the game, toss the addicts a bone once in a while in the form of some in game event of promotion...They use canned graphics and old content to "develop" new expansions....once a year....

Remember back at release they were promising 4-5 adventure packs a year and at least 2 full expansions a year???  Gee, i wonder where their commitment to the customer went?? Probably the same place their refusal to allow RMT went ....Until they decided they could make a profit at it by desguising it as a game...hence the birth of LoN....They are  lazy, money grubbing, hypocrites who have sold out their customers and their art!

These expansions are just a way to milk the cash cow. WoW, one of the greatest MMOs out there (IMO) only had one expansion, and that was what? 2 years after launch? Sony needs to stop expansions, and focus on REAL fucking content.

Lol.

I have been given every expansion and tons of free stuff...  I've been a member since day 1 though... don't know what talk you talk.

EQ2 is about grouping, not about solo.  Go back to World of Warcraft and leave the real MMORPGs to the adults and people who enjoy something harder then getting everything handed to them.

Go cry me a river, build a bridge and get over it already.

LOL look fanboi, I probably have underwear older than you....I have been playing SOE games for 10 years, actually back when they were 989 games and Verant.....if you know who they were...And I started playing MMOs before that....and I was already 34 years old when I started.....you do the math....I have seen a lot of games come and go...and I can tell you from experience that SOE is building EQ2 on a house of cards....eventually their own lack of development will kill this game....

If you have been GIVEN every expansion for free than goody two shoes for you....I am glad for you and hope SOE continues your welfare....but 99.9% of the rest of the LOYAL players have had to pay for every expansion they play, and every adventure pack they have eitehr outright or through a station pass...So giving expansions to non loyal players was like a kick in the teeth....tell me, why are you so satisfied with how SOE treats you? Why are you so loyal to them? Have you ever really thought about how good this game could be if they actually used some imagination in the development?

Yes, I will agree that EQ2 is about grouping....but how are you suppose to group when a large portion of your server population have exited en mass (that means large groups have left in case your public school education didn't work) and you no longer can easily find a tank or healer because the few left only want to do instances or raid??  they won't merge servers or offer free server transfers because that would mean showing the rest of teh gaming world that EQ2 is in decline....which could cause yet another mass exodus...Would you stick around if you knew that SOE might pull the plug once they could no longer make money from the game? Lots of fanbois and bootlickers seem to forget that SOE is a company for profit....and once there is no profit to be made, the game becomes a business liability....Sony owns SOE...Sony is a publically held and traded company..their loyalty is to their stock holders....and they can't have a game that doesn't make money...the Sony board of directors won't allow a product that isn't profitable....SOOOO...SOE leaves low population servers alone...knowing that fanboi addicts like you will send them $15.00 or $30 a month until the game ends....

I have never played WoW and don't intent to...WoW is more like the playskool of MMOs...As for EQ2 being harder than WoW...I doubt it....there is nothing hard about EQ2....Quest, kill ding, rionse and repeat...after level 20 it doesn't get any harder, it just takes longer to get to your next level...EQ1 was a thousand times harder than EQ2 ever will be....EQ1 was developed by people who actually cared about the art of creating MMOs..At least up until just before PoP....

And by your last comment it is clear to me that you are not one of teh adults that play EQ2....Now go back to licking SOEs boots....you are seriously addicted to a game that is neither hard to play or a challenge...you need help.....

Call me a fanboi if you will but, I have been here since the start of EQ1, played mudds b4 that. And yes I am older than your 42 years. YOU DO THE MATH! EQ2 is fun and very enjoyable, I try most game that come out looking to replace it, but it hasn't happened yet.

I have had zero problems with SOE, BUT then again I am not 1 to cry because the game is to hard, or I wanna play a class but I am dumb so please nerf everyone and make me strong so I can play.

I more enjoyed EQ2 when it was harder, when crafting was actually a challenge. Now the game should be called EQ2 lite, because they are trying to pick up people that will not stay otherwise.

For me it is still EQ2 untill someone can prye me away.

AOC sure couldn't   lol

I played eq2 from day one till conan's release - but the game was in decline well before I left it  - the shift of direction from a solid grouping game to a more wow/casual based game is what finished me - that and their rotten expansions - lvl 70-80 being long quest lines with little group play in them was the final nail on the eq2 coffin for me...

conan had the same issues for me - to easy to solo, no reason to group

ah well, someday mmo's might get back to that social group based game that they were based on - or maybe they will all go the way of wow, it seems people have little time or energy for group based games.

First, you math sucks...I am much older than any 42...

Second, by you sig, I see that not only are you a fanboi but you have no life outside of EQ2. If you have ZERO problems with EQ2 not only are you an SOE bootlicker, but you are dilutional.  Even SOE claims there are problems in the game. Keep wasting your life playing EQ2 and when it comes crashing down around you you will finally figure out wht literally hundreds of thousands of former players already know...SOE is playing you like a sucker and EQ2 (was) not as great a game as they wanted you to believe...

Totally agree.

I have to say the last couple of expansion killed the game for me.
Done the month free comeback,  but the game  feels boring than ever, due to the fact that now it is rare to find anyone to group with at all.
But tha's not the main problem IMO
I tell you what the problems are:

-Game is too solo oriented after the last expansion. Being able to solo is good, but no need to group in order to level is a trick only WoW can pull off, not EQ2.
-Way too easy to level, zero challenge (they turned EQ2 to a super casual game to get those kind people on board......I see no casual gamers playing this game right now, but many less casual fleeing the game)
-Same frikking armor models from launch (SoE wake the fuck up, people like customization...yes we are shallow, everyone like to look good and different, even those that won't admit it)
-Too many expansions, meaning 1 billion zones that people will visit once and will forget about it (they should dedicate one expansion to add more armor models and more customisation and maybe re-think the table loot for each dungeon)
-The world look empty, they should add more detail, it is too plain. Uninspiring and boring.
-Customer relation is awful, they never bloody listen to the people that is paying the subscription, by changing the game in order to attract people who doesn't pay a sub yet............and never will.

In conclusion.
EQ1 is way more challenging, there is a ton more content, and the graphic look better (no plastic to be seen for God sake).
So my point is, why bother with Eq2 when Eq1 is better, they should concentrate their effort on that one and kill the terminally ill patient.

I am not a fan boy, I just think Everquest 2 is one of the better MMORPG IMHO.

I alpha tested Ultima Online back in 1995.  I'm 28 years old, played BBSs on my 386 with my 2400bps modem.

If you also have underwear older then me, you have some serious mental issues and need to seek help ASAP!

Please don't toss your age around like, or I'll just pretend that being 45 is your IQ.  Mentally retarded and as dumb as a bag of sand.
