Posted by Jon Wood on May 13, 2008  | 6 comments in our forums

SOE has posted a news item reminding players that Update 45 launches today.

Yes, you heard it! Game Update 45 is coming to a US server near you, the morning of Tuesday, May 13th 2008! Less then a day to revel in the new weaponcrafting changes, less then 24 hours to hear that audible sigh of relief from your overburdened bank as you get more spaces, only mere hours until all the other great additions and changes arrive in EverQuest II!

Less than a few hours to find out what was broken while making these changes..Less than a few hours to find out they didn't fix bugs that have been in the game since Desert of Flames...Less than a few hours to discover more reasons for LoN spam......

Give it a break....Oh that's right...you will....it will be broken.....no doubt about it...

I love how the SOE Fanbois and boot lickers try to compare EQ2 to other MMOs....I didn't say other MMOs didn't have bugs, I said the Devs haven't repaired known bugs that have existed in the game since the first expansion. So please, try to stay focused on what was written, not on what was not...

The SOE Devs are lazy. They use existing content over and over and over, same graphics, same artwork, same character models. They break things every time they try to release new updates and some of the things they break never get repaired.

EQ was a MUCH better PVE game than EQ2 ever will be....It's a shame it's coming to an end...

Honestly I think as with most games and most professions in the world the EQII devs are overworked and underpaid.

Desert of flames does not see much usage any more it seems most people are either in the original zones or ROK so if they only have so many man hours in the day. Why would they focus most of their time on some of the more under used content?

On the useing the same content over and over.  I would have to say EQII is no worse than any other game.  WOW is terrible about it, EQ1 was even worse. I tend not to like the general char GFX in EQII less then many others but... its one of my few gripes.

Personally I give the EQ II devs props.  They came out with a TERRIBLE product initially and have systematically been working through the issues and making it better.  I love it now.  The sad part is a lot of people have moved passed it and left it behind when it has a lot to offer.

I play EQ2.  It has flaws, but I like it.  Maybe I have lower expectations from a game, but it has the features I want from a game and I can meet up with my buddies to do some adventuring.  the game is big enough to keep me busy, stable enough that it does not crap out on me, and does not require all that much time investment to level.

I really don't think any of the MMO out there are really all that different.  They all play the same.  basically you mash buttons on your power bar and wait for them to recharge.  this really hasn't changed since EQ I.

The only difference is how many instance you have, art and how travel works.

Maybe AOC will be different, but I don't know.

It would be nice to see something that played different.  I'm not sure what that would be, but I would love to see something that really had different game play.  Every time I play a new MMO, I feel like I am playing a mod of EQ1.

I'm a casual player and I hardly notice any bugs in the game.  Perhaps a quest or two that is a little quirky, but otherwise I don't run into much.  I would have to disagree with the Desert of Flames expansion not being used much anymore though.  I'm lvl 57 and it's pretty much the only place I hunt since I mostly solo.  It offers some great solo content that I can't get elsewhere.  There are always a ton of people and a lot of times I find groups even when I'm not looking for one.  Especially in SS and PoF.
