Blizzard has added yet another item to the World of Warcraft marketing juggernaught as yesterday marked the launch of World of Warcraft comics...
The new World of Warcraft monthly comic series hits stands today! Is this really necessary? I think this will ruin the community a bit more by attracting kids.
They already have manga out, and a large percentage of the people who read/collect comics are adults.
You obviously are clueless to the fact that the major demographic for comics these days is the 20-40 crowd.
I love manga and comics and I can't wait for it.. Though I have yet to read the World of Warcraft manga.. I really need to.
you can see a 6 page preview of the first comic here: http://www.worldofwarcraft.com/misc/wccomic/index.html
I've read it, and I expected much more. Neither the art nor the script are very well done. At least not in the Marvel, DC or Dark Horse comics league. I thought with their money they would hire real talents in the industry, like Frank Cho or someone similar.
Complete waste of my time reading it.
I wouldn't bother. The manga was absolute garbage. Boring, stale characters, art was just soso, and the "story" is worse than generic... it's generic and banality's lovechild.
The preview six pages aren't exactly bad, but not good either...
