NCsoft has announced that the much anticipated Chronicle 5: Oath of Blood for Lineage II will be making its debut to players on September 6th. The update will be free to all players. In celebration of their announcement, they have released the following video featuring "the musically-inclined boss, Frintezza and his distressing subordinate, Scarlet Von Halisha":

Argh! why does this game have to look so freaking awsome. I Just cannot get past the point and click movement. It makes a game feel like an RTS and not like I am actually in the character's shoes so I just cannot get into it...sigh, It looks like a fun game.

Were we playing the same game? Considering I was a casual player so I didn't get too high but in the time that I had played, I had TONS of PvP.

Chronicle 5 will bring Academies which are part of guilds. It is like a recruitment type phase. So now lower level people will have a greater chance to be in many guilds (even though it was pretty easy finding a guild already).

BTW, there is a WASD function controls but it sucks... I tried it, and it was horrible especially when turning.

I am definitely resubscribing once Chronicle 5 comes out because the same day, they are opening a new server !!

yeah, it does look great. It's one of the reasons I can't play anything else!

We recently had one of the larget sieges on the server. Probably the most exciting time I've ever had in game.

However, it is true that it is not for everyone.

Also, remember, the new server is Euro friendly. Not only are the time specific ingame events (sieges, manor etc) timed for European times but the Euro servers will now be in Germany.

WTF game where you playing?

Thats all the game is about is PvP and community...... (with a huge helping of grind as an added bonus lol)

I swear MMO players are psychotic....

They complain games like WoW are to easy to level in and make fun of the simple no consequence PvP, Love the moronic kill task in it. Complain that you have no impact on the world...on and on.

The Vanguard announces it will have a harder grind as a selling point. Everyone is up in arms because it (and DDO) have no PvP and it looks like EQII.

Everyone "loves" the graphics of L2, but don't like it because it has a hard grind and it has PvP. Its not FFA PvP like the "hard core" people want but it has an open PvP that penalizes the ganker (karma system) like the casual PvPers want, so random killing is punished. The game makes most classes soloable but then promotes socialization to really enjoy the higher level portions. You can't go to a castle siege alone, you must be part of a guild that is doing it.

Sure it has moronic kill task as the main quest type, but don't they fooking all??? L2 the players completely control the world. Player guilds own ALL the cities and castles, and then control the economies and they are not little ramshackle undirected guilds, but highly organized active guilds with their sh*t together. The only way to get a castle is to take it over, which takes hundreds of players to attack and defend. How much more world impact could you want?

And people complain about it! The strongest argument is against the grind *sigh*

On top of it, the utopian game all these heroes are looking for never exsisted and probably never will as the trend is toward more specialized "closed ended" gameplay with little to no world impact and heavy instancing on maps. You might as well play PS2 games online in place of games like DDO, GW and even WoW to a point. (limited player size activities in almost all portions like the BG's and raids)
