But hasn't this been WoW's artform all along? Bright colors and over-exaggerated charicature sizes? I think it looks to be on par with all the other artwork from WoW.

I played and enjoyed wow for a bit over two years. While the art was never something to write home about I dont remember it being this bad. But then again,  perhaps the art was overlooked due to the fun being had?

troll looks like the art direction is trolling, beartroll could be a tactical advantage,makes the enemy wonder if hes on lsd

ur not gonna see new mookin forms blizz already said that the worgen and trolls will use the current/new tree and moonkin forms as per all druids getting a new moonkin form don't hold ur breath on that they have said they would like to but its not a high priority which means 2-5 years before it happens lol

It has been mentioned. Despite the playerbase wanting to have worgen transform into wolves, blizzard will continue to make it kitty form to coincide with other druids.

If I had wanted to simply call them for the breed I could just say wolves, etc. But just to generally refer to a canine etc dogs is commonly used term for wolf,collie,st. bernard... list goes on. Just a generalization of species with many breeds, I know there's differences in domesticated,color etc. but yea it's not something you could stroke your e-peen over by trying to call me out for generalizing something.

Canidae refers to the family (often refered to as the dog family), but Wolf is Canis lupus (grey wolf) or Canis rufus (red wolf) and domestic dog is Canis familiaris (your dog Fido).  Yes I am a biologist by both trade and training.  That aside, in the picture it the Worgen in bear form (according to Blizzard).  Enjoy ;-)

On subject though: I actually love the troll cat form :] I like the tusks, haha. Worgen forms look too much like a mix between a cat and wolf; still neat though.

Gotta love it when the Marketing Department drives the lore as strongly as they do now at Blizzard. The game will obviously still be successful for a while, but really, they're long past the point of having interesting ideas.

I'm dissapointed. Those are some very boring, uninspired looking forms.

Trolls could shapeshift since ever, at least the NPC ones. And since according to lore they are related to night elves or something, having troll druids ain't so weird. I personally think that it's kinda silly to create or play a char only because the chars class is currently buffed by a patch. Sooner or later another patch will nerf that char again. It's always an up and down.

Am I really the first person saying this? Anyone think the Troll cat form looks pretty much exactly like Red XIII from Final Fantasy?

I think the forms look alright. The engine of WoW is pretty dated, and for that it's ok.

I think the troll ones seem to look worse than they are, because they have pretty bright colors AND are all on a pile on the image. If they are a bit apart and not just thrown together, they are not that bad imho.

Doesn't look that horrible to me.

I thought they would look like the tiger as per that latest quests on Echo Isle

worgen forms definatly look better than any other form coming out or currently out in the game imo

it's new, hence "news"... i doubt anyone finds it impressive (but then i doubt most people engage their brain in WoW threads for more than 2 seconds here).

The engine is old, and come cata they have tried to update some parts of it (you gotta admitt the new water effects look good considering).

Old engine, semi decent newness.... and still none of the other MMO's can touch blizzard.

you gotta laugh, did we pick the wrong genre to support... haha...

Those forms are merely OK imho.

The worgen forms look a bit too rabid. Tone down the crazed glowy eye look and have a dentist take a look at the poor bear and straighten those teeth out a bit. Add some more worgen like accessories rather than pieces of spiky armor which makes me think they belong to the horde rather than the alliance. Some of the troll forms are a wee bit too crazy on the color scheme, but I think they did a decent job on the models at least. I still think tauren has the best looking bear form and night elves the best looking cat form.

As for moonkins, I sure hope they at least give us a different skin so that worgen/night elf and tauren/troll won't look identical. In fact, it baffles me that they're not giving us new moonkin forms in Cata. For some reason, they have no trouble finding the artists to crank out all these new models of monsters, NPCs, pets, mounts and what not... yet they don't have the manpower to provide us with new druid forms. It's kinda sad, because most of the time, that's what I'm looking at. My druid form. It's only when hanging out in Dalaran and such that I get to look at my gear. When out killing mobs, bashing other players or running instances/raids, I'm always looking at either a furry butt, feathery butt or splintery butt.

Oh well... can't always win I guess.

The water effects are pretty good, but in my opinion it just looks completely out of place in WoW's cartoon art style.

recently I'm back to WOW and then cranked up my settings (now I got a powerful comp)

The graphic isn't bad at all, while I admit if there are more shadows and such !!!! I can't imagine there will be even better graphics in the upcoming expansion.

Finally there is a reason to try WoW.
