Dungeons & Dragons Online fans will have two new races to play when Update 7 goes live later this year. Turbine introduced the Half Elf and the Half Orc at this weekend's PAX in Seattle, Washington and also revealed a few other details about the next patch. Update 7, the largest this year, will feature a 12-man raid, a free quest line, and will DX-11 support.

kinda dissapointed, half-elf isn't something to be so excited for. Maybe half-orc :D  Also, anyone any idea if the races will pe F2P or P2P? My bet is on the latter.

Actually im surprised they're going to add half-elf instead of something more... cool

Half-orc is great  - community asked for them waaaay before the game went F2P

But half-elf? Meh...

Still, pretty excited :)

I don't know, I've always enjoyed playing half-elves in traditional fantasy settings, if the option is available. It really has more to do with the role play of a particular character than with the aesthetic choices, though, and I'll agree that half-elf modeling is going to look pretty much as anyone would expect. Still, nice to have the option available, especially in a D&D game.

Now we are missing the Gnomes to punt at. ;)

Honestly, I rather see the Shifters (an Eberron specific race), but I think if they do they might just go with the Druids as well.

Pelf lite and dumb grunt aren't that exciting, Shifter and Doppler would have been prefered.

I agree that half elf is truly a role playing aspect and will be completely useless in DDO... half orc I can see.

What DDO needs is more F2P content so people will stop having to do the same tired dungeons over and over again. I have bought several P2P dungeons but cna never find anyone to do them.

Let's update the game by putting in a whole new starting area that would make playing these new races exciting. I would hate to have to go through misery peak ever again.

So, I'd guess that these races are restricted for VIPs/Premium users?

I've got a couple friends that feel the same way.  Chances are, we'd all unlock the class, then make a whole team/guild of em.  Just tear stuff up.

F2P should never have happened. If they would have put it back on the shelves in stores even at $20 and put ads on TV for it they'd have more people playing.

As for the races....Shifters definately and Changlings or Kalashtar. Half-Orcs will be pretty cool but the Half-Elves....sigh....hohum....boring IMO.

As for Druids...they were supposed to bring those out YEARS ago. Still waiting on them.
