Cool, that's a fair price for ppl that are on the fence about buying the game.
Well worth it, the devs behind this game really listen.
I'm tempted, but convince me why I should buy this.
BTW, is steam the only way to buy digital download? If I could buy it from some other digital download provider, I probably would have already bought it.
What a difference, which highlights that so many people are just hating on STO / cryptic. GA has a sale and it's all goood, STO on sale? Outrage.
Anyway, good news for the game.
Edit : pressed quote not reply, doh.
Maybe its because people dont consider GA to be a cheap scam like STO made to make some fast money on fans who dont know any better...
And does this offer include additional 60 days free?
I agree that it is interesting that STO and GA do similar moves and the STO fans/haters (hard to tell the difference sometimes) almost burn the world down, but GA community accepts it. Admittedly, it looks a bit different since GA does not really have a subscription option right now (since they extended free play of that part of the game), but the sale was done for the same reason for both games - an attempt to attract new players to a game that is on the edge of success/failure from a long term perspective. It seems vital for these types of games to snare people early or risk never getting sufficient numbers to keep the game going over the long haul.
It is also interesting to note how accepting the GA community has been of a fairly empty and bare bones game (even for the 49.99 or 39.99 price and no subscription fee). Flip that to STO, and almost nothing the devs do can please the fans/haters sufficiently. I have played both games and I personally like neither. STO and GA both have potential but as released they were both huge dissapointments in my opinion and continue to languish in that class for me.
Hi-Rez and Cryptic are both working to improve their games. I get the feeling that Hi-Rez gets a little more leeway due to their communication with players, which is good, and the fact that they allegedly are trying to do something new, though I have yet to see much outside of the subscription model that is innovative. The combat is second rate right now in my opinion and we will see what the late March content brings. Hopefully it brings a more varied experience. Otherwise, I fear a fairly quick death for both games as more enjoyable options in both single/multi-player games appear.

They are not charging subscriptions at all yet. And have sated many times they will not be untill after all the first three patches are live. (Shooting for the end of march)
Still, a good chunk of the game requires no subscription at all, and will provide many with many hours of good fun. The price os very fair even with out the subscriber only portion of the game.
