Cryptic Studios has released their first update to Star Trek Online, which adds a variety of Borg-themed content to the game for players level 43 and up.

The content released as part of this latest patch includes:

• 3 new Borg related episodes
• Repeatable Star Cluster mission against Borg threats
• Deep Space encounters with Patrolling Borg fleets
• A Daily Star Cluster mission which grants Marks of Exploration for use at an exclusive store in the Staging Fleet to gear up for upcoming Raidisode content.

In addition, level 43+ Klingon players now have access to repeatable Borg related Klingon Defense missions.

Level 43+ players of both factions also gain access to Daily PVP missions which grant Marks of Honor which can be redeemed for exclusive top end gear at stores on K7/Ganalda respectively.

This initial offering of Borg themed content is intended to set the stage for a larger Borg themed update which is scheduled to go live in the next few weeks.

A rundown of the Borg-themed Episodes can be found below:

· The Cure - A planet has been completely taken over by the Borg. Fight them for control of the planet.

· Khitomer Accord - Travel back in time and uncover and participate in the events that led to the release of old Borg you encountered in the Tutorial Episode.

· Into the Hive - Track down a missing Starfleet captain and come face to face with the new Borg Queen.

In addition to today's announcement, we've also got a batch of over 15 new Borg screenshots, as well as two brand new trailers. The first trailer shows off a new Point of Interest in Star Trek Online, the Borg Nexus, while the second trailer introduces us to the Borg faction as a whole.
