Shadowrun Chronicles developed by Cliffhanger Productions is a tactical turn based MMORPG taking place in the 2070s of the Shadowrun universe. Step into the shoes of a Shadowrunner and shape the world with every decision you make. You may have to fight mercenaries, spy on crime syndicates, sabotage omnipotent AI's, and more all from the shadows.
Cliffhanger Productions just announced the release of their most recent update for the Shadowrun Chronicles. A Nanite infection is taking over Boston, and you're invited in on the fun! Wait... that doesn't sound like fun.
As reported by Twinstiq.com, it seems the future for Shadowrun Chronicles looks a little bleak as the development studio (and one half of the company Cliffhanger Productions) has declared bankruptcy. Read on for more details.
The campaign exceeded its $500,000 goal, but, unfortunately, was delayed for quite a bit longer than anticipated until last week finally saw the release of the newly christened Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown. Thanks to years of feedback from hardcore Shadowrun players who backed the game, Shadowrun Chronicles evolved into something that is a bit different from the original Shadowrun Online idea.
The question now is can Chronicles stand on its own two feet? Chronicles has faced a few challenges in its development. As most of you can probably guess $550k isn't enough money to make a full fledged MMORPG. This eventually forced Cliffhanger to switch gears and become the cross platform tactical RPG it is billed as today. Cliffhanger did issue an apology to backers and offered them a chance to opt out.
Cliffhanger Productions has announced the release of Shadowrun Chronicles: Boston Lockdown, the first in a series of episodic content blending tactical game play and RPG elements. To celebrate the release, Cliffhanger has sent out a brand new trailer set in the dystopian future featured in the Shadowrun games. Enjoy!
