Minecraft developed by Mojang is an adventure voxel game that allows for players to build structures, explore vast lands, fight off nocturnal monsters, and even with friends. What starts as trying to survive the first night, leads to building large bases and exploring The Nether.
A team calling itself Phoenix Projects has set itself an ambitious task in creating a fully-featured Pokemon experience within Minecraft. Called "Pokemon Cobalt and Amethyst", the single-player map will feature over a hundred Pokemon, a Pokemon League, gyms and trainer fights.
Minecraft fans will be pleased to hear that the boxed version of Minecraft for Wii U is now available in stores in the United States. Retailing for $29.99, this retail version comes with all of the add-on content packs in the Nintendo eShop version of the game including the Super Mario Mash-Up Pack that brings everyone's favorite Nintendo character into the game.
Wii U players with Minecraft installed will be able to get hold of the Super Mario update when it is released on May 17th. Players will be able to take on appropriately blocky Hammer Bros. and Dry Bones in a place where worlds collide. In addition, a series of skins, Super Mario-themed pre-made world, music and item textures will be included.
Minecraft will be released in a new edition beginning this summer. Called MinecraftEdu, the special version of the game hopes to inspire creativity, collaboration and problem-solving in students around the world. Educators will be able to try out a free trial this summer and then enjoy the first year of MinecraftEdu at no cost.
Fans of Minecraft will be pleased to hear that Mojang's juggernaut building game will be heading to Wii U beginning December 17th. Players will enjoy six included add on packs and have the opportunity to purchase others from within the game. In addition, Minecraft Wii U edition will feature "off screen" play.
