MMORPG.com:
We understand that Voyage Century is a 3D Nautical MMORPG set in the 15th to 18th century. Is it geographically contained or does it span the world?
Daniel Lin:
Voyage Century combine the information about the history and geography relating to the voyage in the century of 15--18 and form a side of history spanning 300 years. Voyage Century will make the players feel the real geography and create all kinds of histories in the game. There are two spatial proportions: real proportion of the city scene and the sea battle. Furthermore, the sea map in the earth which is minimized by the virtual time in the game.

Daniel Lin:
Players could choose the character they would like to be when they enter the game. The differences between the characters are face, hair style, ability, nationality and profession, which players could choose. The game offers the large freedom to choose and develop for the players.

MMORPG.com:
What are the types of game play are available to players? Do you feel that all of them are viable character paths for players to take?
Daniel Lin:
There are three different types for the character development: skill level, ship level and rank of the nobility, which are got form different way to increase the experience. The skills leveled up by practicing and finishing the task relating to the skills. There is no upper limit for it at present. Yes, believe me, they are all viable character paths for player whatever you choose merchant, craftsman or pirate.
MMORPG.com:
How will players advance in Voyage Century? Can they select a specific path to gain honor and reputation in?
Daniel Lin:
Well, players who want to be an advance person in Voyage Century just extends more their skills, so they can see more anther players can't see. Also, for gain honor and reputation, it doesn't get a specific way except complete more high level tasks, explore new lands, find rare species and cumulate battle experience.
MMORPG.com:
Can players choose to learn any and all skills if they wish and is there a possibility of excelling in all skills available?
Daniel Lin:
Skill ability is effective for the character's level, it also influences other characters. If you want to learn more skills, you need to reach higher learning condition. There is no level limit for the character itself, and that refers to professional skills.

MMORPG.com:
What starter equipment will players have? Will they have a boat to start off with?
Daniel Lin:
The novice will get a ship and four cannons of elementary level by talking to the NPC Mysterious Captain. He will tell you the requirement to sail off. After buying the necessary provision, you will be able to sail off.
MMORPG.com:
Will various languages be a skill that players need to learn to converse with the NPCs in various cities of the world?
Daniel Lin:
No. English is the universal language in Voyage Century, you don’t need to learn any language skill.
MMORPG.com:
How will players distinguish themselves? Explain reputation / notoriety in Voyage Century and how it can affect game play for players?
Daniel Lin:
Reputation, Noble title and Title are the particular systems of Voyage Century. It not only give your different appellations, but also affects the characters on every aspect in the game, no matter in production or battle, you will differ from other players in your Noble Titles and your Title. In the game, you will boost your reputation by attacking the pirates or identifying the findings. If your character dies, the reputation will decrease.

MMORPG.com:
Will players be able to distinguish their characters? That is, by looking at a character in game. Will I be able to tell if he or she is a highly skilled Captain with high skills & much experience?
Daniel Lin:
Yes. Players are able to customizing the appearance of their character by choosing different hairstyles, face and etc. We also provide thousands of special finery which will individualize the characters. High-level armors and equipments require high-level skills and experience, so you are able to tell a highly skilled Captain.
MMORPG.com:
Will there be large scale events equivalent to "raids" in current MMORPGs?
Daniel Lin:
The city battle and port contest in Voyage Century are magnificent events for guilds.
MMORPG.com:
Can players control geographical areas such as towns? What are the ramifications for other players?
Daniel Lin:
Of course, they can! The strongest guild is able to control the cities in the game. If a guild wants to get the right to control a city, he has to apply to the King for an attacking permission and fight against the guild that defends it. Each week, there will be a battle for the control right over the city.

MMORPG.com:
There seems to be a lot of things that players can produce. How will players sell their wares? Will the economy be player controlled or is there some sort of rules that will control the market to some extent?
Daniel Lin:
In game, there is a Bourse in each city where you can sell your products. Also, you can exchange them with other players or vend them by setting a booth.

The same as in real, the price of the goods will fluctuate accord with the change of supply-demand situation. Under such rules, wise merchant will make rich profit by commanding the updated information.
MMORPG.com:
Why do you have two methods of storage in game? What is the difference between the warehouse and the bank besides the storage of silver?
Daniel Lin:
This game gets two to make item and silver distinctively. Players only can store sliver in the bank except they purchase Strongbox in the item mall, you also can store more item when you get a strongbox in the bank.
MMORPG.com:
Finally, what do you think Voyage Century brings to the MMORPG market? Why would an MMORPG player choose to try out and play Voyage Century?
Daniel Lin:
Reality is the largest difference for the Voyage Century comparing to other online games. It will make the players feel the real society and create own histories in the game. There are plenty of aspects worth expecting. The guild activity will be very attractive. In the game, players will taste the feelings of territorial reign and feelings of superiority for we embody largely the interest of the guild war in the game. As I talked about before, this particular MMO focuses on nautical life in 15-18th century, which we realize was a very important period in the West. It will attract the large number of players who have dreamed about sailing voyage from their childhood, plus players excited to play the role of pirates, possibly after being influenced by novels and movies.
