Sadly, if Elite manages to release by the end of the year as planned, it doesn't look like the consumer version of the Rift will be ready in time for it. Personally I have no intention of buying a prototype dev kit. Patience will have to be a virtue, here!

"Tiny clown, he got wet. I was talking to a psychic and I can't sleep in the ozone. There are too many different peanuts, looking sad.

I agree about waiting for consumer version of the Rift.

But also - if Elite is released this year it will crash and burn due to complete lack of content and mind numbing grind.

I think they will hold off until Q2 next year.

If you have experienced Elite in a DK2 you wouldn't be able to wait. The experience is phenomenal.

There's already many new features planned for beta 2, then there's beta 3 and then a gamma phase.

They're doing a lot of development behind the scenes, Frontier is famous for under-promising and over-delivering.

I do think however they should delay to Q1 next year... but whether they do or not, they're developing quite fast.

The game is awesome and I'm patient.

Elite Dangerous on DK2 is indeed mind blowing, but I'd recommend people to wait it out unless you have the money to spend.

Just got my x52 flight stick to finish my setup, it's niiiiiiiiiice.
