OnGameNet - an Australian based gaming company has just announced that they have opened the first ever Ragnarok Online server in Australia!  Below is their press release:

From zero to twenty-eight million!

OnGameNet is the first online game services company to ever host any Australian servers for MMORPG - Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games. With their first game being release named "Ragnarok" (www.ragnarok.com.au ).

Having Ragnarok for their first ever MMORPG game launch was not a tough decision. As Ragnarok are currently released all over the world. Currently serviced in 20 different countries with 28 million players proving Ragnarok is one of the world best online games.

Up until now every Australian had to connect through other countries to play their favourite online game Ragnarok and enduring the pain of slower processing time and many disconnections.

In early September, OnGameNet will be released Ragnarok servers into Australia and New Zealand. Which make it possible for Australian modem/ADSL/cable users to connect with ease. With only opening beta running for less than one month it has already become very popular.

Ragnarok is based on a fantasy comic book written by Myung-Jin Lee. "It is considered as a RPG style game, emphasizing communal interaction", where thousands of people around Australia and New Zealand can play at the same time. Players are able to be anything they desire from a "strong and vengeful fighter to a swift thief".

The Open Beta server are still up now, which is free to play. With events happening every week!
