They've gone back to the basics. They scrapped the new systems; the stupid character bound weapon leveling system, the new classes and skills systems, the new stats system, the dimago/ellr/norman race and etc.

Returning are the card system, pet system, the stats system, the old class system: Swordsman/Knight, Mage/Wizard, Archer/Hunter, Thief, Acolyte/Priest (unfortunately, the merchant class does not return). RO2 will have some new contents too such as a more balanced dueling/pvp system, living system, weaving and much more. RO2 is no longer a separate game from RO1 but a true sequel.

Yoko Kanno (music composer) is still on the project, and her music is still mesmerizing. You can hear a glimpse of one of her new soundtracks on the official site.

The current RO2 servers will shut down on August 2nd. The new RO2 Closed Beta testing will begin on August 31st.

I actually liked the concepts behind Norman, Ellr, and Dimago class systems.  I also liked the equipment leveling system concept.
