I'll agree with most of the peope that like it. This game is just different from other games. I understand the graphics suck, but they're comming out with Ragnarok Online 2, which is 3D. Either way, I played RO about 3 years ago. I play insanely for a month or so and then I stop. Yet I always find myself comming back to play RO

well it depends on the peoples point of view. my friend actually got me invovle with RO! lol i still have the 30 day trials for iRO that i got at Anime Expo 04!

This game is played over 30 countries, and it is just very fun to play okay? And don't say "terrible game" why do you say that, because you play Runescape and since that's so terrible you blame this game? How is this game so terrible, alot of people like it in gamespot.com. Look at their reviews. Also, mmorpg.com is bad at giving reviews and ratings, don't trust them too often.

Ah RO is a nice MMO, Even if the graphic isn't that good...
You got 2 job changes and after that you can reborn and after reborning you get a superior class tittle. One of the nicest things in this game are weddings and addopting chibi characters =) . Also the variety of char stats are so many taht i wouldn't even start to explain... For example a monk.. can become an AGI monk, or an Asura monk. There are other possibilities too but as much as i know those two are the main two types of monks that can own asses. The first one got chain combo skills and alot of AGI, while the second one got alot of STR and INT . Also there is a nice upgrading system. Beside the normal upgrading to +x you can also put some mob cards in the equipment. All monsters got their unique card effect. Some increases you ATK some HIT some adds a chance to blind the opponent and so on.. |

RO is highy addictive and graphics are really cute (for those who like 2d anime-style things) - that's why people like it.

Hey also, you idiots, I agree with that guy who said the graphics are really cute, it dosent have bad graphics, its just that way, its alright that way, I like it. it is a highly addictive game with superior awesome music an everything. learn some stuff you nooblet gamers.

well i love it because it is just a darn good MMO, you are probably one of those people who dont like 2d graphics ^^ RO is probably the best MMO out there, you just have to like anime to like the graphics love Josh i love animaRO if you have it i love you? |

I can't say why others play but I play off and on, inbetween EQ2, Vanguard Beta,Lineage II, and Eve-Online, because I really enjoy the customization involved with the characters. most MMORPGs you can't directly change your attributes or stats, you can only buy or train skills which I think is lame. I enjoy having to use a caculator to carefully plan each stat point and skill. Also there are more jobs in this then most other games and with the trans classes you get to change sprites 6 times! novice-1st job class-second job class- high novice- trans 1st job class-trans 2nd job class... just joking about the last part... Lastly I love that there are very few quest, I can't stand quest, they are so annoying. oh yes one more thing, I don't care for western character models I really like eastern style art and graphics (one reason I hate WoW and WAR) I play EQ2 with the "Alternate" models turned on.

Well i like Easter and western types of game.
Also i like quests and stuff like that. I know that Ro doesn't have them, but still... about the jobs - RO isn't a game with many based jobs. you can't count the after reborn jobs since it's basicly only a name upgrade and you get 4 new skills. if you would count like this, then i could say, that lineage 2 got 62 jobs.But since in this game you can set your own stats and skills, there are many different types of a same job.For example, like i said before there are agi monks, and asura monks.which means that a player can choose different ways with every job. ok so here comes the question again.. why do i like this game. Nice ppl, anime style characters, many dungeons to explore, alot of skills and card enhancement system. |

I HATE HATE HATE Ragnarok Online. But the community is fantastic!
When I played I made a few friends that I could meet IRL and awesome friends across the seas. It's definitely a fun game, w/ friends. However the grind is so dull and the game itself is so dull, it's hard to "stick it out" and wait for the fun. |

1. I played UO both played RO and I do not see in them anything the general! 2. UO is the beginning of all mmorpgs. 3. I fan RO! Also I consider its as best of all mmorpgs. I played it for a year.......and I don't know why. It all started with a PC-mag.....me and my friend bought it. In it there was a trial of RO. We met us online every day. Playing together was cool.......then we found a guild. We had to go online every day and play so much as possible--or we were the last in our guild! So I played and played and played. So I got RO-addict. after a year all of my friends were many levels higher than me. So I sat down in the towns and made nonsense. But I didn't want to quit RO.......and I don't know why. Then my brother made me a present: World of Warcraft. My friend also started playing WoW..........and the same thing happend again. Now I'm playing Guild Wars and this won't happen again.....the highest lvl is 20 Erm...yes. |

the cons (i like starting with the negative ones).... graphics... come on man, there is no question about it, a 2d game in an "MMORPG". #2 the visual & sound effects... (clang-clang.... caching!!!!), IS THAT the sound of 'magic'!! Tell me if that's interesting to play! #3 the story.... (do I need to say this..... THERE IS NO PLOT) now the pros....... well, i see this "game" more like a BIG chat log in a "2d playable" environment with the mission to make money and bang some heads... which is good for a chat log... (THANK GOD THERE ARE MORE GAMES OUT THERE) OVERALL......THE DEVELOPERS MUST PLAY SOME GAMES!!!.... THIS IS A PURE MENTAL TORTURE.....

ok... about RO... it's not that bad of a game~
i play in another server and it was kinda cool when i got lucky with the damn uber expensive headgears and could show them off... but the way there aren't quests is just a big downside to it... all you do after... basically lvl 1 onwards is grind... grind here, grind there, grind until you're brain-dead... and still grinding... like a zombie i should say? it was also cool tho that you cud have your own guild emblems, tho they are kinda small... my guild, small but active... had this really cool emblem and wow, showing it off with all my guildies in woe (war of emperium) was fun as hell XD well, it isn't a bad game overall, but i'm having time zone issues which din allow me to play woes 99% of the time, so thats another big downside... then again, my hobby in any MMOs is to run around as a low lvl and explore places... weird i know, but was fun... until when i've been to every single map of the game, then i lost the hook to it....... my guild's dead now and i semi quit for 2 months and hoped to get this 'fresh' touch to the game again that just never happened and... rollbacks really suck... and... it's too easy to find a place to solo and grind until you're a zombie irl... and the trans exp is 3x the non-trans exp... and that meant that you had to grind triple the time to become a good transcendent.......!! |

Wow I haven't played RO in the longest time. I heard there are so many more improvements on it. I'm downloading Hakkyu Kim's latest game, Granado Espada, http://ge.iahgames.com/en/ now though. Arghh can;t wait to play it!

THIS GAME ROCKS...it rocks because its a stratagy game with some fun in it..for example u need builds like speed and caster builds to make it easyer and a better experience also you need to orginize your guild/castle so its undeafetable also.....i like chiken

The main problem with this game is there's not much storyline... and it misses the essential part of rpg's, there's no quests. Or, do we count as a quest those onces where you need to collect x number of this and that to do Blush (ewww, the UGLIEST thing in that game)? I mean, come on, if that's all this game needs to do to make you say it's ZOMG AMAZING BEST GAME EVARR... *censored* I guess people in RO are active (anime nerds, for sure they ARE) as a rpg gamer I don't prefer communicating with other players- Only when necessary. The world to explore in RO is huge, I admire that. But that's it. I hate how easy this game is. It doesn't matter what element you toss on enemies, they WILL fall. Well, that's all. I must admire that I still have RO and I play it on private server... Then when the realm where I use to hang in Wow is down. Which desn't happen much. |

Sorry to tell you this, but you didn't play Ragnarok Online. You played something totally different that put Ragnarok Online in its title. "I hate how easy this game is. It doesn't matter what element you toss on enemies, they WILL fall." This is why. It matters ALOT what element you throw at an enemy. If you use the wrong one it will do no damage or heal the enemy. If you use the right one it will double your damage. Also there are quests. Nothing like mmos coming out now; but somewhere along the lines of 100 extremely long and rewarding quests. The problem is you played on a private server which has to hack content out in order to host the game. I admit though the game isn't that great anymore. In its time it was pretty descent and the WoE was a great element. Luckily they are making Ragnarok Online 2 which has had a much different development process. The original Ragnarok Online cost $500k US to make, Ragnarok Online 2 has been in production for nearly 5 years with a development cost exceeding $50 million US. It should be hitting US soils in the form of Betas in Fall.
