Black Desert Online News - CBT 2, Name Reservations, Cash Shop & More

Posted by Suzie Ford on Jan 15, 2016  | Comments

The first major news for North America's and Europe's version of Black Desert Online has arrived and it's got some big ticket items of interest to the community.

The second round of closed beta testing will be announced next week and preorder customers will be able to reserve both family and character names in February.

There will be two distinct shops in BDO, the Cash Shop which, as expected, will include convenience items including storage, character slots, revive potions and more. Players can use real world cash to purchase Pearls that is the required currency.

The Mileage Shop includes items that can be purchased with both real world currency and mileage that is earned at the rate of 100 miles per day on logging in to any character.  Seven items that are in the regular Cash Shop can also be purchased using a combination of Cash plus Mileage: Partial Skill Reset, Storage +1, Inventory +1, Weight +50, Horse EXP Booster, Revive Potion, and Character Slot. Other items for sale for Mileage only include potions, booster, scrolls, etc. These items, while they can be purchased with Mileage multiple times (though Weight only four times), cannot be traded to other players or sold on the Marketplace.

After CBT 1, Daum took feedback from players that is being considered in preparation for CBT 2 in the following areas:

  • Leveling curve
  • Group play
  • Energy
  • Karma & PK
  • Player to Player trading with certain elements of the Russian server being considered
  • Learning Curve

Some things that are in the works for the future, hopefully most for launch:

  • New fully voiced characters, each region with its own "accent": Balenos & Serendia with American English; Calpheon with British English; Mediah with Australian English; Valencia with Arabian accent; Elves in Kamasylvia with Irish accent; and Dragan with Scottish accent
  • a cinematic intro will be added
  • castle siege and node wars will be added sometime after launch
