  • Patch to Bring Big Changes to Weekly Heroic Strikes

    After today's deployment of the v1.1.1 Destiny patch, players will find a major alterations in the way players take on Weekly Heroic Strikes. Once the patch is deployed, mandatory matchmaking for weekly Heroic Strikes on all levels will be implemented. Developers felt that the current system did not demand a cohesive cooperative group. At this point, matchmaking will not include raids, though that is on the table for inclusion at a later date.

    In a new interview at IGN, Bungie's David Dague let players know that the Destiny long-term plan includes ten years of content and that character progress from the original game will carry over into the planned sequel. There is no word when that sequel will arrive, but it is a sure bet that it will be built on and include aspects of the first.

The example I used was Destiny, which has a solid core shooter experience but is relatively uninteresting in the story, content, and loot departments.   • Team Chat Added in Latest Patch

    The latest patch for Destiny has been deployed. Among the usual bug fixes and feature enhancement comes the welcome news that voice chat amongst teammates is now part of the game. Players placed on teams via matchmaking will be able to join a specific voice enabled channel designed specifically for their team.
