Ok, so two sources of info I hadn't been aware of:

- Kickstarter chat still going on

- Backer forums up today

Thank you very much, that was actually all the info I had hoped for.

im waiting for the forums tbh. hopefully us 5$ donors will be able to vote and suggest.

and when they decide on the targeting, combat, and physics of the game, i'll pre-purchase it.

(if there's no full enemy and ally collision, thats a dealbreaker for me.

cause i know how it can potentially ruin mass-pvp/ collision is a must, for both allies and enemies.)

Personally the only modern MMORPG trend that annoys me is the idea that MMOs need to be designed in a way to attract people who don't actually like MMOs. Which to me makes about as much sense as someone trying to figure out a way to get vegetarians to eat at their steakhouse.

MMO gamers will never learn.   I'm sure there is someone else around you can throw money at.

At some point, Mark has to stop spending time on press releases and spend time on game, yes?

This. MJ is definitely too busy beating up pornstars and sniffing coke right now to post updates. Most assuredly.

Currently playing: Divinity: Original Sin, FTL, Hearthstone and Skyrim.
Eagerly anticipating: Camelot Unchained, Elite: Dangerous, Legend of Grimrock 2 and Star Citizen.

Personally, I'd prefer something like every 2 weeks some type of update.  Every week is just too much because not that much can change in one week.

I figure at this point they have to coordinate the data from KS for each person to their forum badge/etc. while also trying to hire some new employees with some of the money.

My guess is, about nothing has actually been created in the game other than just working on the foundation networking code and things like that.

Yeah, that was useful information to me as well, will check my email when I get home tonight to see if I got a Backers forum invite.  I'm sure with my great contribution (LOL) that I'm going to be in the first wave.

OK, back to reality..... i still have MMORPG.com....

This game is at least 2-3 year from release, maybe longer.

Have a little patience, you have literally years to post on the CU forums before release. I would imagine they are busy getting things together and trying to make this game more than an idea at this point. Having a forum for the backers to chat 2-3 years prior to release would be pretty low on my priority list if I were him.

There also exists the fact that he has to hire on some additional talent, incuding another designer, before the real work can start in full. I assume he wants to do that as quickly as possible.

Better than most devs.

Followed by the "artistic differences" studio split and the wrongful termination lawsuits? Then EA steps in and snaps up the assets for pennies on the dollar, of course.

Wow, I've been reading mmo press for just too damn long.

No, I donated significantly more in the KS itself and haven't received an invite yet.

The backers forums were launched on Tuesday the 21st. He sent out a small batch of invites for it and has been trickling them out. Mark has stated he hopes to have everyone invited who backed by the end of next week. I backed but don't have my invite yet either but meh no rush. They'll get the invites out.

Sorry, all the important information/decisions/polls will be conducted in the backers forums over the next 2 days that will shape the game forever.  If you haven't joined the official backers forums by now, you have missed out and all further discussions that  you have in the forums will be pointless.

Haven't gotten an invite yet, either (pledged $30 through Amazon). He's probably not done going through all the e-mails yet.

...And I think you have in one come up with the most perfect of perfectness weekend hehehehehe ....I get the idea that this took you no time whatsoever to envisage........is there a Porsche involved and an 80's sound track ??. I have noticed that MJ is a fan of the odd medallion .... and of course that matches up perfectly with drinks with umbrella's, the Scarface soundtrack and the odd sparkly lady ......... or two ...hehehe
