IGN has just posted an interview with Marko Dieckmann and Ojom's Christian Winter. A preview of this interview is below:

Marko Dieckmann: In Face of Mankind you will experience a science fiction world set in the 24th century. Apart from many other intriguing features, our main goal is to immerse the player into a deep story with many interesting developments. A comprehensive background story, also known as The Chronicles, introduces a world where 10 factions have crystallized out of the past as the major groups of power in the Global Dominion, which is the government that tries to keep everything under control.
Players can both create and follow the story. With the first true system of player only generated missions, your actions really mean something. Fighting, cooperating, strategic planning, managing economics and socializing are just a few words to describe what's possible.
