Face of Mankind has announced that they are ready to release their "huge milestone patch". The patch, which totals up into 350Mb, is broken up into 8 smaller pieces. This should cut down on the time it will take to recover, should an error occur during download.:

Dear Community, The time has come. Our huge milestone patch is ready and available for download. Please start your launcher and be patient while the patches load. The entire patch is divided into 8 pieces to make sure that you will not have to download one huge file again in case something goes wrong. The total size of the 8 packages is roughly 350Mb. Please understand that this patch is still a rough diamond, it will need more work to solve problems and to introduce missing features. A list of things that will be done in the following weeks can be found here. Of course, your feedback about malfunctioning features is appreciated, please report them in our bugtracker. Yours sincerely, Duplex Systems Staff |

I might give the game another go..
I remember I quit playing very quickly when the game first game came out, beacause well the game was simply horrible. You think something like conversing with NPC's would be easy well you sure are wrong...just try trading.
They had a nice idea in that you had to type/talk to the NPC's to do what you want...but well it turned out to be nothing but a troubleshooting sesseion with this emotionless chracter on your screen to see what the hell is sold on this planet.
Or how about that transporter bug eh? Can't get out of your apartment meaning you could not go anywhere....awsome game lol.
The game was so plagued it just wasn't worth it at the time. But hearing about this patch and reading about some progress, I will give it a go this weekend most likely.
this game seems to have heart, but it just didint work last winter/spring?
hopefully itll rock
LOL i was in closed beta for this game... but no one was ever online when I was online...
then i stopped playing... cuz it was too boring not being able to do a thing....
I didn't even realize it was in open beta....
I wonder how many people are actually playing?
There were a lot of people around when I played a couple months ago. Too bad I couldn't figure out what to do. The tutorial was weak, basically I learned to move, shoot, and pick up stuff then it was off to the 'real world' with no other guidance. I was completely lost. Call me lazy but I hate reading external documents (ie. web pages) to learn a game, which is what FoM requires.
there is a new tutorial, new graphics, a crapload of new armours and clothes and generally, the game doesnt feel dated anymore. Everyone should give it a try. Keep in mind though that it just opened up from a wipe so the market is still at its infant stages, give it a week or two to grow and i assure you that FoM will take you by storm.
