Wow it sounds interesting, in particular i liked this part:

I. Murder and Manslaughter

a. Manslaughter
b. Murder
Note: Manslaughter and Murder will only apply when permakilling another player. The reasonability etc. and everything will be up to the players.

II. Crimes against physical inviolability

a. 2nd Degree Assault and Battery
Note: Attacking another player with firearms

b. 1st Degree Assault and Battery
Note: Attacking several players with firearms, or attacking one or several players with explosives

III. Violation of Narcotics Law

a. Production of Drugs
b. Trading of Drugs
c. Illegal possession of drugs
Note: All these are only for extreme cases. The usual drug possession penalty will still be handled by the scanner implant.

IV. Crimes against the estate

a. Theft
Note: Taking items from another player without using violence (looting)

b. Robbery
Note: Taking items from another player by using deadly violence. i.e. killing someone and then looting.

c. Fraud
Note: Getting items or money from another player by using false pretences or breaking a concluded contract.

V. Crimes against the freedom of decision

a. Coercion
Note: Using Violence to achieve a certain behaviour from another player

b. Blackmail
Note: Using Violence or threats to get money or items from another player.

VI. Crimes against the honour

a. Insults
b. Sexual harassment

VII. Crimes against the Government

a. Bribery
Note: Bribing or attempting to bribe officials like: Senator, Judge, Faction Rank 6 and 7

b. Accepting bribes
Note: Accepting a bribe while being one of the officials mentioned above

c. Perversion of justice
Note: A crime that can only be committed by a judge. The judge intentionally makes several wrong decisions during several trials as seen on the judge’s record.

I enjoyed FoM in open beta, i thought it had a great RP feeling to it, making drugs and dealing them is just an awesome feature to. Maybe ill give it a go some time.

Can you tell me how is the population and what faction would you recommend joining (i dont like being any police forces really) how are the mafia guys, the asian ones ?

As I have said before countless of times, the improving of an MMO doesn't start increasingly each day, but step by step, it gets better and better at a steady pace. The problem is, some people tend to be impatient, but it tends to pay off.

I liked MMOs better when gamers didn't play them, and just geeks did.

People tend to get impatient when their money is involved. If the game is no where near the point where it's a solid, "finished" product, then release the game for free until it's at said state. If a game is released and people are paying for it, they have every right to bitch for a shitty experience. Your point of view boggles my mind a bit.

I only got to play this game a few weeks before release.  It was a great game with good potential.  But once release came around I stopped playing because I didn't think it was ready.  But this new patch looks real good, wish I was there to see it.

P.S. Is there still rampant PKing/ganking?  My appartment was in GZ and a lot of time I got ganked coming out of it.  And later in GZ, I almost got into a full scale firefight between my squad of FED and a few (hacking) Mercs.

It is a PvP game. Ofcourse you'll get pk'd. The thing is how the game mechanics and the players react to improper use of force.

Game mechanics are the penalty points/prison and turrets. But these are more used for faction politics these days.
Roleplaying and faction structure holds some control over improper killing. A player can be fined if they don't confine to the rules of engagement and even kicked from the faction if they repeat their offence. Also the player versus player confrontation doesn't have to end in bloodshed if you can talk it out.

Now for the new plans. We will be getting a court system. A new game mechanic to enhance the rp controll over improper actions. Since the judges will be from different factions I think this system could actually work. The problem with the police is that it is just another faction and also treated as such. They are not treated as law enforces. But now this court system offers an unbiased controll over crime.

I can grantee that no one ever Role-plays the reason "why" they gank new players as soon as they come out to the world. oh, but im sure there is a very valid reason , that has been expressed as to why random, non-declared, but yet apparently "its role-play" reason as to why people camp the spawn points for newly killed (and re-cloned) players....

I would love to hear that back story.

Oh, and the one about why its ok to runaround like a mad man and shoot anyone you see... That must be a good RP story too...

*listens with bated breath*

I dont know. The CMG (my faction) has never condoned ganking new players... we just kill those who would compete with us (it is harder to compete when you spend your days in cloning).

If you are talking about the MoTB (mercenary faction), well they may (you would have to ask them) believe that the best way to learn is the hard way...

There is a lot of RP in this game... however there are some players that try to make this into CS.. and get frustrated when RP interferes with this.

DamN!  You got to repesct the fact that they spelled it out and incorporated into the game . Much better then what the CSRs, MOD and Devs do at SWG , they make it up as they do along. /asshats
