I played FOM in early Beta and havnt picked it up since. I played Planetside because I was looking for a First Person Shooter mmorpg. I was so dissapointed with Planetsides crappy weak inaccurate weapons. You aim at something and watch the ammo swerve off in some other direction. That caused people running up to the enemy and sticking the gun barrel on the enemys body looking like a melee war. Frustrating because these people run in front of you causing freindly fire penalty. Planetside has these killer huge maps that would be great for long range battle if the weapons were accurate but there not so I dumped it. What is FOM's weapons like? Are they more planetside or more accurate like say battlefield or any other quality FPS? Thanks much.

FoM is p2p, and its not a FPS, if you expect action all the time, don't go play it. Most of the time you will be sitting arround like a chicken waiting for something to happen.

p2p means pay to play and yes combat is similar to FPS, but game as a entire isn't one. You must learn more and talk to others not just shoot at things next time you play.

FoM is like hobbo hotel only better graphics and guns. Hobbo hotel may even have more users, dunno havn't used it since I was like 14. |

ahmen to that...ya huxley looks really great, i really wish i didnt waste my time playing planetside, it was fun the first 5 minutes, then it got boreing, fom was just boreing even when i started |

FOM and PLanetside can not be compaired. Two differand game. I personly enjoy FOM a lot. I recomand that and play it more then 5 minutes.

Planetside and FoM are completely different, I enjoyed PS for being a great FPS, but ther is pratically no RP in there. FoM has an extraordinary RP (especially in certain factions) but lack of the immediacy PS has.
To conclude: wanna play 30 mins and have fun? PS. Wanna be part of a world that as ours can have up and down regarding action but is very "social"? FoM. |

The best way to describe the difference is FOM is not a game, planetside is.
FOM is a social experiment where you give people guns and a label and see what happens. There are no objectives aside from amount money or a reputation by ganking. I have a link somewhere that actually states that the maker of FOM made it as a social experiment, if I find it I will edit my post. Planetside is a game with weapons, tanks, objectives, levels, ranks etc. Try the planetside free trial and wait for something better is all I can suggest. |

FOM has three weapons, a TAR7 RGI9 PP7, they are all the same gun with a different skin, they do the same damage and everything. The game is lame, do not touch it if you want quality. |
