Ok, most of you have read the ive had enough post well this is just about the same, but with a twist, ok game crashes every 5-10 mins yes, lag is a big deal yes, but this is just the begining, i was stuck in my apartment for 10 relogs, including resetting graphics to the lowest possoble setting, this was extremely annnoying then i finally get into the game, 5 mins later it crashes, then i am stuck in the apartment again.  Ok then i delete character make a new one, i get out of apartment for about 5 mins then game crashes then i am stuck in my apartment again  WTF. 

I understand this is open beta but WTF, if they dont think being stuck in the original spawn area(apartment) is the biggest issue then wtf is the biggest issue????, if we cant play the fng game how in the hell can they improve things, even still, when i was wandering fro about 5-10 mins i saw nothing worthwhile within this game, it was actually very pathetic, if i could sum it up its a counterstrike sci-fi mmo, with a pathetic mining etc scheme.

I am truly dissapointed in this game, i was hoping for something that would save my interest's in mmo, nut i guess i was aiming too high. even when they eventually fix the bugs in this game, i still stand saying that this game is a great idea and nothing more. everything about it blows, they have huge maps, which you have no idea where you are when moving around on them, they have tons of material which is bascially a cop out, cause they really do nothing but make your armor, weapons and wallet better(counterstrike mmo). 

In conclusion this game may improve drastically when released, but i have no idea how, this game is extreme hype with nothing to stand tall behind. But i admit when it is released i will try it one more time cause the idea still draws me it has alot of potential, although i doubt they will be able to improve this poorly made game, it would have been ok in 2000, but now it is just a pile of cow dung. if you doubt my post just play it. peace

You have to remember that this game can only be tested for real with 1000s of players. The reason there are so many bugs now is because open beta is the only way they could be tested. The game only works with 1000s of people which is why they had to put it into the open beta to test it. The game seems like its somewere in closed beta, which is true for any other game but other games can test their systems with only a few closed beta testers. I was one of the closed beta testers and the game hardly ever crashed on me back then, but since its gone into open and theres like 100 people in one area at times there are bound to be problems. The mission system, economics, production, law system, game stabily and anything else they plan to add can only be tested now. You can compare this to other games and it will seem really bad, but you have to remember FoM is not like other games. If the game is not ready by time retail comes about then fair enough, but for me at least im going to give it a chance to prove that it can be done before the deadline. For you i sugest if you cant face the game atm come back in 2-4 weeks and see what its like then.

Just do what im doing, wait it out for a couple of days for the devs to get everything in order. Frankly I dont mind the game so far, its just its a little hard to test when you cant play :/

regardless of a 400+ time poster, never trust a FPS player for yur mmorpg info...alot of us dont even play non-mmorpgs

i've written bout this game a couple times in some other threads, basically, this game is not beta and seems very alpha....a smart company wouldnt have released this product, but they might have been forced to by outside shit to push deadlines(money, investors, or loansharks)

i want this game to work out so i can become LED and arrest yall scum, but it might not work out..

The first one pretty much says to me that you, like many others who jump on the beta bandwagon, are simply wanting a free ride. THIS IS NOT THE POINT OF A BETA. You're supposed to be TESTING the game--how much fun you are currently having while doing so should not be a factor (as a side note, I think that the smooth running WoW beta really spoiled many people when it comes to how a beta 'should be').

Also, FoM, like another poster mentioned, is a completely different animal compared to most MMOs. Considering that pretty much everything revolves around the players, it's really hard to test out the game's features before the open beta stage--it needs all those players to test if the game's main features work properly (and obviously things need fixed ).

And your second statement (the FPS player bash) was completely uncalled for. First, saying that an FPS player doesn't know what he's talking about regarding MMO's is total bunk--and second, the only reason you dubbed him as such is no doubt because in his sig he lists 'Playing: HL2'.

I mean, c'mon. You're just scraping for an insult here, necbone. Put a little bit more thought into your posts .

Lets face it a HL2 player will have a much better understanding of FoMk than say an EQ player.

Everyone keeps saying about how this is beta, and you should give it time... blah blah blah.

Its an open beta, 80% of the game should be complete by now, its not. Open beta is for stress testing and SMALL fixes. FoM has some really good ideas, sounds cool, implemented terribly. It still needs 6 months work before release.

But foMk is not like Everquest where the entire structure of the game could be developed without any players whatsoever. FoMk is a world effectively created by the players, there is no real way that the devs could get any clues about how the game would work until Open Beta. They should though have said this.

firstly i apologize for cracking on dude's FPS habits, but i dont relate to first person shooter people, well their gaming habits^^...and most of them dont play mmorps, but i guess this is a mix game of rpg and fps

next i wanna say, we the beta testers are going to be the customers; dont get it twisted, they know with these "beta tests" its like advertising for their game, testing the waters....if this was alpha i wouldnt be complaining and i'd be like this game is doing well, but its not alpha...maybe they're trying to do things differently; making the game while we're stress testing it? sounds like me trying to write a term paper 3hrs before its due.

Basically though, one of the points I was trying to make was that although the game might seem to be in an 'alpha like' stage right now, it's mainly because of how the game works I think.

I mean, if you think about it, one of FoM's goals is to have everything be ultimately player controlled (even down to missions being handed down by other players). Therefore, the devs NEED all those players that an open beta brings in to test even the game's most basic features.

It might seem like a total ripoff once you get in there and see the problems, but a large influx of players is the only way the dev team is going to really know if they are doing things right or not--for this game, the alpha or closed beta wouldn't have shown that well at all, I think.

Hello necbone, ok i seen your apologie it is taken but i must reply. I do not play FPS alot i played HL2 for about a month off and on, i have played alot more mmo than you probably even know of, (just a guess) lol, i know what open beta is, i have played tons of them and this one is the least ready to be tested, even Wish( the short lived beta) was further along than this, i too have followed this game for along time anticipating its release etc, i just dont think it lived up to what i was hoping for, in fact not even close. 

I still will try it on release if it makes it to release, cause like i said in my post, i am drawn to the idea of the game and it could be alot of fun. But problem is if you dont like FPS then i suggest you find another mmo, even with all the bugs etc, this game is dominated by FPS, its has more to do with that than anything else. anyways take it easy. peace
