I read the FAQ but it's not clearly stated.  But look like the core of the game involved fighting peoples from other factions.

In a word, yes. The majority of the action will be based on faction vs. faction (read: PvP) conflicts.

That's unfortunate. FoM isn't a PvP game along the lines of Planetside, but it does have PvP and twitch-based combat. There is also a strong roleplaying side to FoM: crafting, faction ranking system, missions, etc. It isn't a straight 'shoot-em-up' game. I think you may be getting the wrong impression of the gameplay.
