Well normally i wouldn't post about this, but if you're planning on playing FoM, you'd better hear it. It was actually kinda funny, but also sad. A hacker made an aimbot program, which was handed out to about 20 people. Unfortionately, this aimbot program had an unidentified keylogger, which sent out user names and passwords. Smoker, the lead GM, got a hold of the program, and tested it, not knowing it contained a keylogger. When the hacker was satisfied by the numbers, he posted on the fourms a list of usernames and passwords. The hacker used Smoker's forum account to keep posting them. The even worse part is that the hacker went into the game with Smoker's GM and started Faction Kicking EVERYONE. All the HC in the game got faction kicked, along with a few others. The hacker was also able to cause chaos as other players logged onto other peoples accounts and stole money, robbed items and perma killed characters. This made alot of people quit the game, which is pretty understandable. Even though this event was bad, things were happening even before it.

 

Lets take a few steps back to about two weeks before the aimbot/keylogger incedent. You're standing in New York -Manhattan and see something  weird. All of the sudden someone pops out from under the floor, shoots you with one shot (actually a 10 shot hack) and you die instantly. It turns out that even before this awakening keylogger/aimbot event, there was hackers just roaming around. I saw, on many occasions, 1-4 people fly hacking all around manhattan. You could also see those same people speed hacking, and obviously using an aimbot aswell. The GMs didnt even act then, and it was horrible to just step into hattan and get taken down so quickly and so unfairly. Some of these fly hackers would just fly around pop shoting people, and killing the people they hated. Before you play the game, consider wether or not you want to step into a game where hackers get away easily, dont get caught, and get even more direct (use more hacks) every day.

amazing htis games last this long. Same story whehn I played in beta before release. They release the game wiht a known aimbot exploit. Absolutely ubelievable.

Is there ANY FPS without a known Aimbot exploit?

(Granted, some may not have been popular enough to have anyone code for them)

Did planetside ever have aimbots? I don't recount ever seeing anyone even remotely fishy.

Yep. they had them. I dont know if they still do. Planetside uses client side hit detection to avoid lag.

The issue isnt that games have cheats/exploits... it is what they do about them.

P.S. The only use for aimbots in Planetside was snipers, because of thier cone firing system, assisted aim did not result in increased damage.

There are so many ways to hack this game that the developer hasn't figured out yet.

I was on ventrilo with a few flyhackers. Some funny stuff. There was an aimboter there too. Never touched the hacks myself.

If it's fixed then why are people using Extra Crispy's hacks again?

Up until Extra Crispy released the first versions of his hacks to the community, Duplex himself said that FoM was impossible to hack.  Impossible.  Much like the likelihood that this game will ever be successful.
