In Face of Mankind, you start out by choosing a group to go with, each group offers different advantages and disadvantages. By completing missions that come up every week, u will be able to move through the ranks. This game offers real time fighting, so it will take skill not just button pressing like the other mmorpg's out there. It has a verighty of weapons to choose from, both older types of weapons, such as a pistol and knife, and newer weapons such as a plasma rifle. I ddon't know about all of you, but i think this game is going to be awesome

I think you may be a little confused. The combat in Face of Mankind is not turn-based, it is real-time. You can compare it to playing a game like Quake or Deus Ex, but only for the combat portion. The heart of the game revolves around the dynamic storyline that is driven by player interaction, not just dictated by the developers. I agree, it's not getting a lot of coverage right now because it's not being advertised and most people who find it only find it thru looking for this type of game. It's not like people are spamming the forums like other games with information about this yet. But it's only BETA, I think when we get closer to open beta and gold we'll see a major increase in the community. I really hope this game get's a big community.

This is about the only game coming up that I'm really interested in. It has exactly what drew me to Planetside (proper combat! no "click on mob, wait till one of you dies of boredom" stuff!), but also has what Planetside lacked on the roleplaying front.

Deus Ex online, anyone?

Uhhhh.... this game doesn't have point and click attack.. i saw a screenshot where there was a sniper scope aiming for a person which gives me the idea that the game is click and fire just like neocron.

Yah, that's what I mean - it's proper FPS style combat like Planetside (or Far Cry, or Unreal Tournament, etc.) - that's why ah'm so happy!

this game will be awesome... i wish i could find a good MMOFPS/RPG somewhere... but there arent many, and this one seems to be becoming a great one :) so i cant wait for it...

Its the same game as Neocron which has been out for years. Same graphics same game style.

if you can hardly wait for this then play Neocron then you don't have to wait hehe.

You are making wrong assumptions, you haven't even play the game yet but you already think that it's like Neocron.

What makes you think like that? You should look at the graphics once again and actually read something about FoM, then tell me again if it's like NC.

Yes it has dynamic FPP combat and takes place in a futuristic world, those are the two similarities.

I don't wanna say its the same game as Neocron but i has quiet a few paralel stuff in it. or at least it does look that way. Of all other MMO that are around i would consider neocron being the closest match tho. Planetside is an will remain a FPS with a small portion of RPG mechanics in it will Neocron is the only FPS like RPG i know of. so yeah if you feel like comparing an unreleased game you never played i think Neocron is the best comparison.

Where Crowen say that you should play neocron if he can't wait i would say he is wrong. Neocron is deing atm and if the expansion get another postponement its dead so don't wast your money on a game that after 2 years of retail is still buggy as hell.
