Face of Mankind is unique, there are no other like it! This game let's the player be powerfull! In WoW you get respect if your a lvl 60 but in FoM you have to earn your respect, there are no lvl's in FoM but there are 1-7 ranks. Rank 1-3 are automatic which means that you need to have a special amount of XP to get rank 2 (r2) or rank3 (r3). And to get XP you need to do mission where you also get money for a succesfull mission, and a r4 and above can make missions. All ranks above r3 can do "special" things:

r4- Can make missions, fine people and open security doors through the colony control.
r5- Can promote people, can fine a higher amount of Money or PP.
r6- Can take over colonies (planets), also fine higher amount of money or PP, can also give away XP rewards.
r7- is a GM, but he has gone trough the hieracy (meaning he has been in the faction for a long time). The r7 can: fine the highest amount of Money or PP available, can faction kick people (kick people out of the faction).

And there are 8 different factions (2 GD, 3 clans, 3 corps), to just tell you guys about some of them:

LED- The police they arrest and guard the prison (De Morgans castle), also they enforce the laws that the senate has approved.

FDC- The military, protects mankind, from all kinds of threats, exampel: xenomorhps (aliens). And LED and FDC together is the GD.

BoS- They are the "freedome fighters", they fight for the people using the shadows as their shield. They are on of the clans which are not to be messed with, also they deal drugs and corrupt the GD. (the first clan).

GoM- They are the peacekeepers, they try to use their guns as little as they can. (The second clan )

MotB- The third clan member, they are ex FDC members that has been kicked out of the FDC, they are skilled fighters. And they hire themself to the Corps and GD sometimes.

VI- one of the corps, They invented the Vortex Gate technology that makes it possible to travel around the different colonies, also the made the Orbit a gun that uses the Vortex techonology, a very strong gun. VI are the more military corp.

The economics in FoM is very good, the players mine the materials, produce them and make the items using production modules. And the factions has their own money (faction funds) and they gain money when someone mines materials on their planet. So wars in FoM are often just to get a planet with the desired material.

A game doesn't need 41234132 AFK people in the capital city with macros saying "WTS +5 DAGGER OF FIRE PM ME" in order to be populated.

Would be nice if FOM had a larger playerbase, but even with the new server structure the game probably cant even support it that well (im talking more than 100players in any given area.

As it is right now, I wouldnt recomend the game to anyone -let alone try to  get them into a faction-

And as far as MMO's go FOM is fairly(extremely) low on the population numbers (AFK trade shops nothing to do with it -just another bash at games that are slightly better than FOM-)
