WE LOVE YOU EN1GMA!

So, I have heard many neat things about the game, like the lack of mobs, the PvP aspect, the political clan vs clan aspect. It all sounds great to me.

Because of this I downloaded and joined up...

Now, in a game I am not expecting an entire push in the direction to go (Hell, I was a Ryzom GM, I know how barren a Sandbox game can be) but I was wondering if anyone can give me some guidance on anything.

I was going to try to read some guides, but the website seems to be shaky and crash quite frequently.

Also, the games tutorial, while telling you how to move around, how to use access loactions, storage, mining, etc. lacks any guidance of what to do after you leave the training area.

I entered my apartment, accidently left, couldn't find a way back in.

From there, I was in a city, which was completely barren, and I didn't know what to do, so I just ended up logging out.

I was wondering if either someone could point me in the direction of some general information of what there is to do around the station, because I am completely lost.

I just want to do something other than run around...

Thanks for the help in advance.

If you need to get back into your apt, find the apt entry area in the city. Many places will have a map on a wall that shows where eveything is. All cities and colonies have an apartment/hotel entry area, similar to a Teleporter, Medical or Market area.

You're next step is to contact your faction thru the Faction Chat Tab and introduce yourself. This can be the most frustrating part of this game, as the people playing are usually busy... i'm sure that many new players probably leave around this point, so be persistant. Also, there is a certain degree of paranoia in this game since factions constantly try to infiltrate each other with alts. People are not always who they say they are, so expect some wariness.

Depending on what your profession and faction are, you will be attached to a mission created by an officer in your faction. For combat personnel these may last around an hour more or less. For certain factions, you may have to undergo training proceedures.

I found this link useful, you probably will too.

I just completed a mission where I sat in a bar for 15 minutes doing absolutely nothing! If this is a sign of things to come...

lol everyone jumping on the cart just to recruit a single soul

sheez instead of giving him some basics ... right here ....

alright so the game is open ended, you can do whatever you please but you have to think of the consequences of your acts, I mean like you cant go killing everyone as you see fit ... (unless if you're  good player and got 2-3 friends to back you up which are a good shot too) As a beginner you should indeed check your faction chat and try to get into those missions as quick as possible as they will be your main source of income. It is said that the playerbase will increase when they release Milestone2 and perhaps free accounts ....

GL! ( and gank em all woohooo lol)

You must play another game then I did. You can kill everyone without consequences, because everyone kills each other. Its like a big team deathmatch game with total lack of roleplay and content. And MS2 won't safe this game, look at the publisher who doesn't even dare to advertise the game but in the meanwhile cashes money from players who are playing a paid beta game.
