Today we would like to outline the upcoming changes to some of the core mechanics of Face of Mankind.
-- Future Changes --
The next major patch is going to address several issues with the way players can interact within the game world, opening up new ways to create conflict, along with new ways to role-play. It's an assortment of internal ideas, along with a few player suggestions. The exact contents of the patch are subject to change, but here are is a list of a few changes that you are likely see in the upcoming patches.
- Public Apartment List -
The ability for players to mark an apartment as public for a fee, and have it listed on the apartment terminal with a custom name and description.
- "Tagged" Missions -
Organizing conflict is difficult without higher ranks, and with this we would like to make it a little simpler. Mission creators will gain the ability to mark a mission as public, which will have a visible description and name on a newly created tab of the group manager.
- Government Powers -
The power of the government is currently limited to how willing players are to cooperate with each other. We would like to put some real mechanics behind the government, so we will be implementing a new system of government tools and powers. This system will be made in a way that does not conform to specific styles of government and is mutable to every form the players come up with.
- Final Battle System Overhaul -
The way that Military Activity is gained, along with the final battle itself, will be getting a full rework. The system will favor skill and tactics more, and will be place less importance on keeping nodes and power plants hacked.
All of the above and more are what you will all have to look forward to in the upcoming months. We realize that to create the best game experience, players need tools to work with. In the next Developer's Blog, we will go into further detail on more features you will be likely to see added to the game as time progresses. We would like to give all of you a clearer picture of our vision for the game, so we can work together to create something fun for everyone.
