epoq writes: Cool tidbits of information. I wish one of them had said "Planes of Power marked the decline of Everquest with its release in October 2002" Classic EQ FTW! Tue Mar 17 2009 9:51PM
skeaser writes: Dammit...must, not, go, back. Wed Mar 18 2009 12:12AM
Jeowan writes: EQ was where it all started for me.. 1999.. Classic.. /tear Wed Mar 18 2009 9:38AM

Smitty88 writes: My 1st mmo.. I started playing when Ruins of Kunark came out. I had an Iksar shadowknight and played him for about 4 years and never had a desire to create an alt. Wed Mar 18 2009 4:38PM
itpaladin writes: If I had the money I would log in and see how Bertox server is doing these days. My guild started its decline a few months before EQ II came out then died pretty much completely after it. I still have a 65 or so paladin that never completed the 1.5 epic. Wed Mar 18 2009 4:50PM
Subilac writes: I started EQ back in "99" and really, really miss it. I quit when EQ2 came out, but still have tons of friends from EQ who I have kept in contact with.. Good times.. Wed Mar 18 2009 6:40PM
Flummoxed writes: god, fond memories of every one of those Classic locations. The wonderful early days of mmo gaming... when the world was young. *sigh* Wed Mar 18 2009 7:57PM

Lghtnng writes: I started in 99 and was constantly playing until 02 when I met my wife playing Diablo 2 of all games, because a couple of my friends coerced me into playing it with them. LOL The last expansion for me was Luclin. I miss the camaraderie that was in EQ. But you had to in that game, I still remember the corpse runs, the groups... that either played together, or would be dead together. The losing of exp with every death, and even losing spells if you died right after getting a spell level. Good times. I'm finding some of that in the Kin that I'm with in LOTRO, but nothing compares to what it was like in EQ. 3000 undiscovered items... sheesh. Wed Mar 18 2009 9:37PM
sagittaep writes: I returned last year with the veterans special and brought my husband in too. We played WoW previously and enjoyed it. Better graphics, but even though the graphics are a bit less, I enjoy the starry nights on the plains and sunsets etc, and the CONTENT beats WoW. Even my hubby says he likes EQ better. SO ... Return old players, there is still loads to explore. :-))) Wed Mar 18 2009 10:43PM
Spiritof55 writes: People only log in now to raid. If you aren't high level leet and prepared to raid like its your religion, which is sad, nobody has time for you. The low end game is dead. Thu Mar 19 2009 1:30AM
hail2dathief writes: great parody of the video of the dude dancing all over the world...lol nice video and graphics look far better after the upgrades. Too bad they ruined the eq franchise though. Thu Mar 19 2009 2:14AM
Vexe writes: well, SoE tends to ruin most everything...except PoTBS (so far), but that's because I think flagship studios keeps faaaaar away from them. I never got to try everquest...I'm tempted to play at least once... Thu Mar 19 2009 8:07AM
Zerocyde writes: 3000 undiscovered items? Jesus that is VERY frustrating to my mild OCD... Thu Mar 19 2009 1:02PM
mrjimorg writes: EQ had a truely great history and could have a truely great future if they brought the stinkin' UI into the 21st century. I logged in a little while ago and while I enjoyed the fighting and questing, the constant clicking related to looting, turning in quests, and escpecially trying to figure out what that dropped item is for ... well, it ruined the experience. They should create another client that would allow for LUA scripting, at which point EQ would be reborn. Thu Mar 19 2009 2:04PM
Kanaman writes: Just thot of sumthing.....y dont they just do a remake of Everquest 1......just better graphics.....same places and everything? Same Engine.....id go bak to it definently Thu Mar 19 2009 5:31PM
Kanaman writes: EQ.....Come back plz.... Thu Mar 19 2009 5:34PM
Kanaman writes: Was my first MMO....Wil never forget you!!! Thu Mar 19 2009 5:35PM
permster writes: I agree Kanaman. I posted that same suggestion on the forums a year or so back. I would be back in a heartbeat with updated graphics. Fri Mar 20 2009 12:33AM
Porphyro writes: Everquest was absolutely magical, but that was a *terrible* effort for a retrospective video. Still, there are plenty of great ones on Youtube to get us vets all misty eyed. Also, clue for SoE: Cazic Thule doesn't live in the Plane of Hate... Fri Mar 20 2009 1:53PM
Godwulf writes: Just like a first love, EQ was my first MMO which I will never forget. Sat Mar 21 2009 11:39AM
Wolfdor writes: I hate that cabbage patch dance the character was doing, bring back the "WTF was that" dance where the characters shift side to side for the worst dance ever! Sat Mar 21 2009 10:19PM

Jamkull writes: 3000 undiscovered items? must be a lot of unless junk in EQ now. Thu Mar 26 2009 12:04PM
Jamkull writes: unless = useless :P Thu Mar 26 2009 12:07PM
indiramourn writes: Bah! We are all suffering from selective memory. I highly recommend you enjoy your good memories of EQ. Going back, even to a classic server, will not get any of those old feelings back. Sadly. Fri Mar 27 2009 6:47PM
gogogogone writes: What about EQ2? Sun Apr 05 2009 9:36PM
darkislandcs writes: I'm starting again soon after an 8 year absence. I just can't help myself. Been playing Guild Wars for 3 years, DaoC and WoW before that and for some reason the experiences are not the same. The fear or dying and sense of discovery is still unrivaled by anything I've played since. can't wait to get back in the fray. Sat Sep 05 2009 11:46PM
