    • A classic game in the mmorpg genre. One of those who gives you that special sense of wonder. Too bad it's now a bit graphically outdated.

    • This would be a great game if it were 1999. Same bugs as back then exist now. Half-classes like paladin and bard are terrible to play. Most caster classes like cleric and enchanter are boring and frustrating. The UI makes no sense, there is no questing in Everquest unless you go on the internet separately and read pages of tasks that make no sense. I still have a subscription because I have friends too stubborn to move, but probably not for long. Oh, and pray you never have any Customer Service issues. This is the worse Customer Service I've had with any company (gaming or otherwise) in a very, very long time.

    • I started playing EQ after trying WoW/EQ2/Vanguard/LoTRO and some other MMORPGs. I just love exploring and this game has amazing amount of content. Killing mobs is slow after WoW but graphics and quests are pretty good

    • Graphically EQ is no longer seemless, it's a hodgepodge of graphical styles, and artists with no set "theme" or "style". Sound again is also a mix and match, with no real continuity. Role Playing or RPG is effectively non-existant with the exception of one server. $14.95+ per month, it's not on par with other product offerings at the same price range. Fun wise, EQ has an extremely high learning curve and at 75 levels plus 600+ aa's in order to be accepted in most groups in current expansions, this is not a play it casually game, it's a lifestyle choice. The EQ community is rather rabid, it doesn't take critisism well. Performance wise this game is great, it plays well on older systems and there's almost never any noticible server lag issues. Customer Service is, well, it's outsourced to India, most responses are cut and paste, often with no relation to the question/issue asked. Attempts to voice issues regarding CS on the SOE forums are automatically locks by the forum moderators.

    • Granted, it's old, but if you used to play or know anyone that still does, it's still possible to get in and have a great time. With the anniversary edition that just came out, $20 grabs you content from all the expansions which is huge. It's no killer, but I expect to see the game around for quite some time longer. There's just something about it that, if you played it before, makes you never forget it, and the feeling always comes back.

    • Fairly good game, that is huge. Tons of different character classes, races, etc. Really only for hard core players tho and best with a active guild

    • I voted 9.1 overall, the best mmo to date, imo.

    • I have played this game off and on since beta 4 but I had to give it a realistic rating for what it is today. Sorry but EQ needs to die off or be remade from ground up IMHO
