Hello All

Coming back to EQ after a very long time away.  Played back in the day and with the state of MMO's today I want to get that old skool feeling back and give EQ a go again.

I do have a couple questions and hope someone can direct me in  the right direction.

1. I purchased the Underfoot via steam, not sure if this was a good idea, but for 19.99 got original game and 16 expansions.  So I said what the heck.  I noticed a starter pack on SOE and was wondering do I recieve the items that SOE offers from STEAM.

2.  Whats a good way to approach the game,  server, guilds, grouping, solo classes, Etc

Any info would be greatly appreciated and look forward to playing.

Also if anyone playing can offe some help that would be great!!!

Happy New Year

Not sure about #1 but...

Question #2:  Alot has changed since back in the day. Some zones you may have been used to have been replaced with newer looking versions. For me personally this was a negative. There are now companions in the game that you can rent etc to fight alongside you. There is stuff called "Defiant Gear" that drops randomly off of mobs now making it not as rare/hard to get armor from being naked.  There is also something called "The Golden Path" (not unsimilar to what EQ2 has) where there are perferred quest zones and a linear path that is "perferred" for those that like taking the "perferred route".  In addition, you nolonger need to retrieve your corpse when you die. Almost everything has changed to a certain extent.

In any mmo its better if you find a guild.  I cant play EQlive anymore due to so much being changed. Hope you have fun though.

also recommend creating many newbie characters you may want

when the game goes f2p in march -- there will be race/class restrictions unless you are a subscriber

any character created before 02/29 will not be subjected to race/class restrictions

ZAM is a good site for game info
