I still had my station access to SoE. (after this I cancelled it) So they have an RMT store for EQ and EQ2 as most know.
Everquest has a new expansion, called Veil of Alaris, which promised new guild halls, it's on their site in black and white: http://everquest.com/veil-of-alaris/ After I pointed out the glaring issue that the Guild Halls still had to be bought with real life money for $25 from their RMT store, after buying a $80 expansion, and that it was ridiculous and completely unfair that this wasn't mentioned, I got banned immediately, these are the words I used, "ridiculous and unfair" I did nothing else, this is the only post I made in months.
SoE decided to do this, station account and forum access denied:
It's ridiculous that a company that lies and deceits their players still exists. |

Although I have nothing positive to say about Sony, isn't this more an issue with overzealous moderation on their forum? |

I don't believe that they banned you for the words "ridiculous and unfair" at all. I think I can go on a limb and say there is a lot more to the story than what you present. |

So I just read what it says you get with regular edition and the collecters edition. Under neither did it say you got access to the new guild halls. They did not lie. You just assumed because it was under features added with the expansion that you would get one. The banning was uncalled for if thats all you said. I will agree with that. Had it been me I would have just pointed out that you did not understand what you got by buying the expansion and then locked the thread. The ban wasnt warrented. Also yea, its pretty cheap of them to make you pay for the guild halls but again, no where, where it says "this is what you get with this version" does it say guild halls. |

"Don't miss out on the guild halls that you can use in your housing neighborhodds, brand new to this expansion." http://everquest.com/veil-of-alaris/
They were not included in the expansion AT ALL, they only way to get them was to buy them from the RMT store after the expansion launch. That was my complaint. |

Originally posted by CalmOceans Technically, yes. But moderators aren't the same as decision makers for games. I doubt there's a corporate directive that stipulates that things like what you said warrants being banned. That was the decision of some low level functionary with shit for brains. Again, I'm not defending Sony. They can rot for all I care. Maybe you should see this as a positive thing and turn your back on these guys for good. You might be better off. |

Originally posted by CalmOceans I started playing EQ back in 1999 havent played in a few years and I will admit that when I seen the new expansion and the marketing material I thought about reactivating a few accounts for winter and getting back into the grind. I can see where a person would think the new guild halls are included among other things.
Now I am not going to go back to EQ but for different reasons, but keep in mind SOE is about making profits they are a company after all. |

I looked at your link and no where did it say that they were going to give you a free guild hall if that is what you assumed? I don't know. It just said new guild halls thats it. Under the Digital Expanion and the Collectors edition it lists all the free stuff you get there, but no guild hall awarded to everyone. And while I do agree with you 80 dollars is a lot for a collectors edition, but they are in the business to make money just like WoW doing that subscribe for a year and get diablo 3 these games are just trying to hang on as newer and newer games are coming out. |

Originally posted by CalmOceans Sorry I just re-read your OP and realized you didnt assume you got the guild halls WITH the expansion. The complaint is that you should not have to pay to get them after buying the expansion. My reading comprehension failure sorry. Well I agree 100% with you there and like I said before the ban was completely unwarrented. The "account" ban was just them saying "Haha your addicted to our game so you will make another account and give us more money." Not saying you are but thats what they think. |

Well that's SOE for you.
One of the reasons I am not going to play their games anymore.
Neither Planrtscape 2 or EQNext.
Mostly because SOE is leader in trying all those things I hate in mmorpg's atm, from business models perspective. They all the time during the years tried and pionnired, RMT between players, various cash shops, extra pays, and on top of that they do have habit of ruining their games.
So nope I will not invest my time, money and emotions in their another game. |

They are wrong about this, they know it that's why they are dodging it. After a week they haven't said one word after so many complaints. Just to link the two threads where guild leaders are absolutely ticked off with what they did: http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/posts/list.m?topic_id=181118 http://forums.station.sony.com/eq/posts/list.m?topic_id=181129
They made the choice to screw their loyal subscriber over, they've lost me for this expansion. If they come out and do better next expansion I'll probably buy it. But this time around I've only purchased 1 copy for 1 account out of 4 I own.

Chuck Norris does not sanction EQ, play WoW, WoW is the only current sanctioned game. If you have any questions please ask. I have moved on to WoW from eq and no longer have any desire to play a dead game. Thank you. (posted by another selling his account in EQ1) |

Without your entire post how am I supposed to believe that all you said was ,"ridiculous and unfair"? Notice the entire, "Repeated Trolling and Personal Attacks" section of that ban announcement? Makes me wonder...
And why the hell does this new expansion cost $80? That Guild Wars 2 login screen knocked up my wife. Must be the second coming! |

Spelling and grammar do matter. I find your lack of real-life skills disturbing. |

I want to call BS on your ban. I'm constantly on the forums knocking them over their repeated RMT marketplace items, after you got banned a bigger slap in the face was Mercenary bandoleer being added to market place for 1 slot = $15 4 slots = $40 All Slots = $60. It was also put out their as a "possible" expansion feature. Its hilarious that they alienate their playerbase in such a manner. They are really big on the RMT train and also charging a monthly sub, which is driving away many players. SoE is so mismanaged and with all these new MMOs coming out, I don't know how they will survive. |
