So i was sitting in my class today taking an exam thinking about Everquest randomly and remembered a very brief moment in the games history. Now i started in 2001 in the fall (around this time or before); now i was a total MMORPG newbie and didn't know what was what period but i was very engrossed by the game and i rolled on the first server i clicked on (Tallon Zek) so me being that noob I didn't realize it was a pvp server til well someone killed me. I thought this was all part of the game and lived with it (made it very interesting i have many found memories of pvp battles one of my favs is a classic High Elf Paladin vs Dark Elf Shadow Knight in the trench seperating Great divide and Eastern Wastes) anyways im getting off track, does anyone else that played a pvp server remember monster play!?! in short it was a concept that let players play as low-level monsters like gnolls in qeynos hills or orcs in gfay etc etc. Now i can see why they got rid of it (NPC's are meant to be AI) but it was a feature i rather enjoyed for a day, still remember just playing the act of a mob than jumping someone when they sat down. Alright well im done god i miss classic moments.........*Sigh* poor TZ. EQ- Tallon zek |
