Well i tried lotro,wow,eq2, d and d online and vanguard oh ye and swg. But last night i decided to log on and start a new char on my old favourite! i read a post on this site saying that old eq players dont need fancy graphics just a good game to play. and they are spot on. the slow paced tough learning curve of Everquest again got me hooked. Having to actualy take note of what quests im on instead of following an arrow, great! starting of with nothing and going up a few levels and getting the slightest upgrade felt amazing again. Battles that felt like i had to think bout them instead of button mash. pulling with snare and watching pathing! working my way slowly through a dungeon without 3 min repops killing me. I'm back and it actualy feels really good. no other games seem to be able to capture it. Vanguard got me hooked for a few months but after never grouping and still levelling to 47 in a few months without even grinding it kinda felt shallow and didnt feel an achievement. So i decided untill something makes me feel the same way as Everquest does, it looks like i'm here to stay. Oakmist One of Tunares chosen. Firiona vie. |

If any of you old players ever feel like getting back to the older content you should look up the guild Unintended Consequences on Test Server. We are a progression guild that focuses on content and helping guildies do things that they miss on other servers. Things like epic 1.0, old raid content including Velious, PoFear, PoGrowth, Kunark and all that jazz. The good thing about being on Test Server is that you can /tesbuff to lvl 25 and get full spells up to that lvl and some starting gear too. Plus double exp on Test so you can catch up to everyone fairly quickly. If this sounds intriguing to any of you our site is www.ucguild.com or feel free to send any of us a tell in game!

Just thought i would update you all on how i am doing now in EQ. I am still here and already i am hooked as bad as ever! advice for any old vets coming back...start fresh! there is so much new content in the game i have just reached 51 and have barely touched any old content. I have joined a great guild on FV...Wayfarers Elites....great friendly guild with a whole range of levels. Great leader ( Tsolaes ) and a great core of players. I am a million miles behind as far as cash goes but it's not really making much difference as the new content has a lot of great quests. at level 20 i quested a 1 hand weapon that had the same DPS output as my old epic earthcaller. Levelling seems to have taken a huge boost with the new regen upgrade. new content is not too far from new games either which is nice. Lots more questing to do too. Not sure if thats a good thing or not though. questing seems to be something i used to love but now think can ruin a game if saturated..ie VG, wow and such. Alli all i'm having a blast and wonder why i ever left. the grass is not greener! |

Thanks for the update Shukes33! Sounds interesting. I've heard that FV is the place to start new characters; and now we have the name of a fun guild. This helpful for anyone coming back that wants to give EQ another try. |

Cynical? Me? Never. |
/sigh. Too bad there is no one to group with. This game is the best when you have like-minded people around you. |

Come to FV friend! we seem to have a decent community on this server with a nice level range. i only struggled to find a group between 10 and 20 and those flew by doing quests in blightfire moors. Since then i have reached 51 and having a blast ripping through nadox with a group each night. I'm sure we could make room for you friend :). Were even starting the planes from scratch this month...starting from the very beggining which should be fun :). |

I think only an 'old/first content' server would pique my interest, which ive heard was once implemented but think they have since been taken down? Or was it progression servers, where they unlock a new expansion every couple months or so? Do they do this any longer? |
