I doubt it concidering they made EQ2, I know they aren't anyway near the same game but also I haven't seen Sony ever update a graphics engine on any of the games I know about.

They updated a few years ago IIRC, I don't think there is much else they can do without a revamp of the engine, and I think it's a bit late for that.

I enjoyed EQ back in the day, but I don't think it would be popular now. Having to actually talk to NPCs is probably too much to keep the attention of many.

My dog barks some. Mentally you picture my dog, but I have not told you the type of dog which I have. Perhaps you even picture Toto, from "The Wizard of Oz." But I warn you, my dog is always with me.

CAKE OR DEATH

Ya, they have updated the graphics on EQ and EQ2.

I would love to see an updated version of EQ. In fact if they updated the graphics of original EQ (pre Luclin) and re released it i would be all over that. Though i dont think that the graphics are really that bad the way they are now, certainly better then when i started in '99, though i miss my blocky little halfling.

SoE did an update on the graphics when...Shadows Of Luclin (I think - this was a while ago) came out. Ironically, the initials of the expansion kinda says it all, i.e. SoL. Anyone remember the 48-72 hour (non-stop) download patch sessions with a T1 line ? Followed up by like about 3 months of patching every two or three times a week.

Still, when all's said and done the new graphics don't look too bad. Nothing compared with the newer products out these days though but then I think it's to do with the way EQ was originally put together. Just too difficult to do a total overhaul these days and likely too expensive.
