Why So Serious?

I just had to laugh at the part in red...I agree SOE mismanagement has slowly destroyed EQ1 over the years but WoW superior Gameplay my ass lol.    WoW's a good game but it is not superior.

Err..

Boy do I hate the notion that adventuring in a group is the only way to socially interact in an mmo.  Because thats a pretty dumb notion.

As for EQ1, I think I will now also skip it, was idling considering giving it a look-see while waiting for AoC

I just have to post and say to all of you who have resorted to attacking the OPs grammar and typing, how sad for you this is a deciding factor in how you judge someones post and intelligence. While I think it is easier to read a post that has good grammar and typing this in no way  influences how I regard the info presented. If i can still understand what is being posted thats what matters.  This to me has become one of the lowest forms of belittlement on the net.

To all those saying multi-boxing is bad, against the rules, ruining the game or some other lame argument.. You really need to go back to WoW or your soloing class.

When you've tried playing a class that is (almost) completely unable to solo (cleric, warrior, rogue just to name a few) and having been LFG for hours upon hours on end, then finally just either giving up and logging or trying to find some light-blue mobs that barely gives any experience and where you have to spend 5 minutes after each fight to get your mana or hp back up. When you've tried that then come back, untill then just stop spewing your ignorant arguments.

Sure, EverQuest isn't the game it used to be, not other game (that I know of) is what EverQuest used to be. The community in EverQuest is simply unparalleled, or at least was up to Gates of Discord where SOE really screwed up by adding content that was bugged and seriously rather tough compared to the gearlevel you'd have in from previous expansion (at least for many that hadn't farmed Plane of Time for ages).

In World of Warcraft people don't give a rats ass about their reputation. It's so easy ti just make a new character and level to 70 and then get along for a few Karazhan raids and you're good to go for the higher tier raids. In EverQuest (as it was) you didn't want to ruin your reputation because then you'd be shunned from groups (needed for many to get experience) and shunned from guilds. The inter-guild/-player communication was simply that much better than it is in WoW.

Now that most people have left EverQuest (with Gates of Discord to blame for the great exodus) people have realized that although grouping is great and fun, and honestly still prefer to group with other people rather than their own collection of bots, they are simply not willing to waste time being LFG. Often they'd rather have their own 2-6 character botted group and then fill it with other players. Point is they no longer have to waste their time because they can't find a group, or the group gets disbanded within 15 minutes because some essential class had to leave.

Compare it to doing Heroics in WoW. Nothing more annoying than having to wait for hours to get into a good Heroics group (or even just a regular instance group) just to have it disband after 15 minutes, or never really get started, because the tank, the healer or the crowd control suddenly had to go ("Sorry, mom says I have to go to bed now").

Having a perma-group, whether it be bots or real players, really solves so many issues that no matter what the anti-botters say they'll always lose. You're welcome to waste your time LFG while I get my levels and gear in my perma-group.

Sorry, guess that got a bit longer than anticipated :)

You obviously don't get it. The posters here, and myself are old school EQ players. We don't like five boxers or have any use for them. You would never have been allowed in a guild worth a crap in the old days. You would have been ridiculed and  ostracized till we forced you to quit. Social games don't have people five boxing, and you were simply hogging a spawn for your bot crew. We don't care what your Guild Leader says, he is just as wrong minded about gaming as you are.

Ostracized

$5 says I started playing EQ before you.  I've played EQ off and on for the last 8 years so I know the changing landscape.  Just because you, Mr. "Old School EQ Player", can't adjust to the way EQ is now played gives you NO right to attack it's current members for wanting to box to have fun in the game.  Your response is bigoted and ignorant and you should be ashamed of it.  To think, you want to dictate to other people how THEY should enjoy the game!?  What are you?  Abashi?  Are you old school enough to remember how he changed the game and infuriated people by basically telling them how to enjoy it?  Congratulations, you're so in tune with old EQ you now channel how Verant acted in it's early stages.

I'll take your $5. I was one of the 10,000 who logged on that first day of release and played for over 4 years straight until SOE ruined the game after Brad left.

I also mostly soloed, and soloing is about playing one character and relying on that character's skills only. Multiboxers are cheaters, circumventing game design by artificially creating their own hybrids and using bots to accomplish solo what they were not intended to accomplish solo and benefiting from multiple class skills without grouping and sharing experience and loot. If the designers intended players to be able to play multiple characters at the same time, they would allow every player to do so with a single account.

Multiboxers ruin immersion, by filling the game with lifeless soulless characters and bots. Based on my experience multiboxers are rude, hog mobs and entire areas, to powerlevel a character or farm items for goldselling. That doesn't make me bigoted, it is fact based on my experience.

You will lose , I started Oct 1999. I left about 6 months into PoP, the expansion that destroyed EQ. I mostly grouped and played a Warrior, but my favorite was my Druid.

You both lose,  I have been playing since the day of release also, but unlike both of y'all I have never quit eq, I still play to this day, +640 days played on my druid, 78 days played on my monk, 35 days Played on my paladin, 26 days played on ranger, 20 Days played necro,  17 days played rogue, 10+ days played on bard.

I have played solo, in groups, in raids and with boxxers. I have seen nice boxxers and rude regular groups, and even rude soloers. so just saying ONLY boxxers are rude is generalizing when it isnt true,  anyone can be rude. i have seen both rude and nice of all the various people  around.

As for how people play, that is up to THEM, it is Their choice on how they play, it is NOT up to you to Nazi Rule how to play this game. Last I checked, this game is a freedom form type of game where you have many different ways you can play this game, not JUST grouping. I have done the best of all worlds and enjoyed em all. except box myself, I cant afford that, but i have grouped with boxxers before and had a ton of fun.

I feel your pain op i really do and i will explain why in details.

I have been part of eq since the start of the game. i have been in guilds that not only hack but they have and still do it up to this day as i type this now. i mean high end guilds of eq on xey server mel server 7th hammer.

I will list names here because i know it will not be removed.

Krippalzz history on him 2006+ was leader of a guild called Huhu Horde on xey server on eq1 know about ghostkilling mq2 useage, also had a few of the members / officers in the guild with him hacking he is a war if you didnt know by now.

He left and his guild had mergerd into another guild called Iratus Lepus also know for there hacking ways ghostkilling hacking mq2 useage.  Krippalzz was leader with Darkrah necro who is in crimson tempest and is an officers now keep in mind these two are in the top 20 guilds in eq at the time.

Both darkrah and krippalzz hack they will not say it out but they do it up to this day, they left the guild Huhu horde but that does not means they have stop the hacking mq2 useage, also darkrah and krippalzz not only know of gms but they are good friends with them so if you get in there way as kosing them or reporting them.

They will call there gm friends and trust me you will be banned you just have to know what they did or have and still doing to get banned by the gm, i cant post this information on soe forum for two reasons it will be taken down.

and i will be removed from the forums:{.

Now it goes deepers here is how darkrah and krippalzz and a few others were on a raid doing sullon zek when i was in the guild the raid had wipe :{ on her she was at 30% they had 2 monks in there that ghostkilled her yes they ghostkiller her after and we got the win we all know this because there was no way in hell you can get her down from 30% to dead in 30 secounds when the raid had just wipe with two monsk standing there unless you had ghostkilled the mob.

Now after that was done there was a roged named gigglesworth that was really upset about that and took it to them and had told them about this also he deguilded himself and left and quit eq because of the cheating going on. He had reported them soe did nothing.

Now darkrah had server tranfer to mel server he took his toons with him clr name storm monk name shoggie that was the main ghostkiller of darkrah and one of his best toon. the guild was a demi raiding guild at the time huhu horde that is no alts will ever have demi loot unless it rots but both of his toons did. none bitch or said anything because they know both leaders would get them banned from eq so fear can control anyone in my eye i have seen it.

Now huhu horde is dead but it still lives why because Milyen a bard from dark horizon has his alts in there yes dark harizon is the 3 or the 2 best guild server wide, Bruther  leader of Iratus Lepus also has ghostkillers in the guild, Seaza officer of huhu horde once up on a time was there but he sold his toon but has an army of toons in there as well ghostkilling. Raptor officer of Iratus Lepus also has toons in the guild and in Iratus Lepus that have and still ghostkilled. Somta zerker in Triality ghostkiller from huhu horde and Iratus Lepus.

They all know gms that if you report them will get you banned when  i told them i would report them to a gm i was guild remove and anyone else that i know that also know this, not only has Iratus Lepus ghostkilled toons make it bad for anyone that knows they ghostkill events with there monks or what ever toons they have and learn the events then go in as a guild. they have a rog full solt gear name Iratus who is raptors alt that was made on the server that was in full solt gear before anyone else even when the guild was on in the zone yet doing raids.

What makes the game bad is this every guild has a gm that will banned you and i dont care what you all have to say really yes gm can change the logs. i have seen it done if you were to report anyone from any of them guilds you will get banned thats the way it is and thats the way it will always be. and thats like half of what i know i know of gm that run guilds on the 7th hammer, ab, ms is another guild they all ghostkill to be were they are some way our another and if you report them or say they ghostkill they call there gm friends up and will have you banned and all your toons.

I have lost about 2 toons due to this and i will lose more but soe needs to do something about it check there logs for warping ghostkilling and macroing thats why eq is the way it is now. because og top guild + gm that run it darkrah the rest power level toons sell pp and ghostkill mobs.

The reason soe has been banning people in the last 3 months is to keep guilds like this in business and thats how it is. i will not stand by and see it no more. if you want ss of any ghostkilling any of these toons have done and gms helping them just pm me i will send it to you thanks for your time.

all toons have alts that have and still ghostkill from tss all the way to sof and yes they have killed it all just send them a tell and ask.

Last I checked EQ1's population was in the toilet, I think that more than proves who is right.

A Dr00d, what a surprise, and 600+ days played is sad. I played a Warrior, or as I called em a "wimpior", WoW fixed the Warrior and everyone of the WARRIORS I knew bailed crappy EQ1 for WoW, and that amounted to hundreds of "Wimpiors" tired of incompetant SOE devs unable and unwilling to fixthe most popular class.

Is this a joke.  Every day employees of banks getting caught funnelling money out to private accounts for like $5k.  Most businesses have people stealing from them every day.  Risk Management is a term for companies that have items in stock that they sell like Best Buy.  Sony hold intellectual property in their items and portions out productions to other companies.  Thus Sony does not need Risk Management.  Instead they have Internal Security looking for hackers and such.  Please they day a company does not have people defrauding them or stealing from them is the day all the people on the Earth hold hands and share in a socialist utopia.

Everquest or SOE has a real corrupt CS dept.  Employees are getting the most they can before it goes belly up imo.  I have heard rumors of banning accounts of people that might have grouped without knowing someone was using MQ2 in the group.  Then the banned toons get ebayed out on fresh accounts by employees.
