    Star Citizen has had its share of detractors from the start, though you wouldn't know it from the way their continuing crowdfunding campaign has been progressing. While there have been questions about their open development model and potential feature-creep, fans have continued to be staunchly in Chris Roberts' corner from the start. There is one issue debated even among the fans, however. That would be their use of Crytek's CryENGINE 3 for the backbone of the developing game.

  • Arena Commander Weekly Report Contains Big News

    Fans hoping to get a look at Star Citizen and who have backed the project will finally get their hands on a portion of the game on May 29th. According to the latest Arena Commander Weekly report, the Free Flight and Vanduul Swarm game modes. In addition, the first group of multiplayer candidates will be invited to help the team bug fix. The post indicates that the pool for multiplayer testers will be expanded over time and as quickly as possible.

  • Ex-Blizzard Producer Moving to Cloud Imerium Games

    Alex Mayberry, most recently the lead producer for Diablo 3, is headed to Cloud Imperium Games to take on the Executive Producer role on Star Citizen. Mayberry's other credentials include stints with Xatrix Entertainment, EA, and Kalisto as well as three years as director and executive producer on America's Army.

  • $38 Million Stretch Goal Includes New Planetary System

    The latest stretch goals for Star Citizen have been posted as fundraising has surpassed the thirty-eight million dollar mark. Goals include the Cano System, a single inhabited planet similar to Earth among three others. In addition, Chris Roberts announced that a poll to select the final star system was too close to call and, as a result, both systems will be included in the game.
