Lets just say Roberts has put a lot on the line, and if he fails to deliver he will never get funding again.   I expect something great from him.   I know a lot of folks hated the wing commander movie, I thought it was ok.  The wing commander games were great.  Just looking forward to see what they do with the cash we gave them and what the investors will do.

Yep! There was no way in hell I was gonna miss out on this, perhaps EPIC is a word that finally can be used correctly,

even if only half of it comes true. Co-op with friends is gonna be awesome.

 Hype has been taken to a whole new level, now instead of preordering to buy into a beta, people are paying to have a game developed based off ideas? I REALLY hope this game works out for you folks but I'd almost bet ( a coke ) that this games going to be letting people down. All these ideas kicking around in donaters heads, they now have license to force feedback on the developers because in essence they are investors.

Recipe for disaster.

i say this is wonderful.

i havent' spent a dime and, if all the stars allign :), i'll get to play a pretty cool space game 5 years down the road. if shit hits the fan instead, i lost no money.

No in contrary to troll posters and bullshitting developers of A-Net and EAWARE SC does only promise things the cryengine already got working out of the box. There is a difference between "just" creating content and adjusting parameters or hoping your fleet station does not crash above 200 players.

And from the thousands of [specific] answers (in contrary to dodgy answers which do not answer anything at all, eaware, a-net) it's pretty clear how far they are willing to take certain features.

If some are hoping for Eve with dogfight or a pure Wingcommander, this will not work out. But those are to blame themselves. The information is out there.

As far as generalization bets go, i bet 1 million dollar someone gonna like it.

Yes, in terms of anticipation, only this time the results will fully live up to the hype.

And as a pledger I will play the Alpha in 12 months.
