The Matrix Online News - Update Info and Pandora's Box

The Matrix Online has moved on to Episode 2.2. This latest update is full of changes and fixes including: coding imporvements and changes,  general improvements and changes, and bug fixes.

Bug Fixes
  • Guard Breaker's chat window text now correctly says it reduces Block Tactics instead of Melee Damage Resistance.
  • Remote Proxy 5.0 now creates an Aikido Simulacrum (matches all other Remote Proxy Abilities).
  • "Aura" Abilities (ex: Combat Aura 1.0) now display chat text messages when they deactivate.
  • Chat icon should now flash appropriately when data comes in on a stream that is not currently visible.
  • Bug that allowed players to become invulnerable to ranged and viral attacks has been fixed.
  • Crew Bank $Info values now appear correctly as $i 0 (what they really were) when making a new crew after leaving a crew that had $Info in its bank.
  • Special Attacks now work correctly when a player is drawn into Interlock while sitting.
  • Bug preventing single-weapon special attacks from working with dual weapons equipped has been fixed.
  • Block Tactics bonuses no longer boost Special Move tactic rolls.
  • Code Compiler no longer begins calling all new items "Computer" after a high number of item codes are stored in the Code Archive.
  • Item Codes now display the correct mouse-over text for an item.
  • Hellion gang members now give the correct amount of loot when killed.
  • Police Special now grants +3 to Retaliate Tactics and +50 to Retaliate Damage.
  • Code bits now correctly appear in the Marketplace.
  • Hyper-Jump Beta can no longer be traded on the Marketplace.
  • Focus no longer resists "metal".
  • Female Bandanas are now dropped by the same NPCs that drop Male ones.
  • Ctrl-Space should work for Hyper Jump in "All Chat" config preset.
  • Items now correctly display when they boost the "Jump" stat.
  • Single items no longer show Split Quantity option.
  • Neighborhood contact Operetta now shows up in the correct location in the International District.
  • The Collector "Elmore" now appears on the in-game map.
  • Many invisible wall issues have been fixed.

Pandora's Box was also released with some new story information, complete with new missions for characters, levels 35-50.

Our first offering of "Pandora's Box" content, an automatic update for all subscribers, reveals a new Matrix story designed for teams of characters from levels 35 through 50. The Archaeologist, who claims to be a collector of exotic objects, has appeared near the Mara Central hardline. Reports have reached him of mysterious artifacts appearing throughout the City: artifacts that appear to be alien to the Matrix simulation itself. Could they have anything to do with the sudden disappearance of one of the top researchers in the field?

Yes, new forces have invaded the Mega City. If you are powerful and clever enough to pursue them high and low throughout the City's three main districts, you will fight powerful new foes, explore previously unavailable areas, come face-to-face with major players in the Matrix's power-struggle, win extravagant new equippable items, and uncover a threat to the stability of the Matrix itself. Old enemies and allies--even near Mara Central--unveil new agendas, and you may glean new clues to the hidden past of some of the Matrix's most well-known personalities.
